no mid-day shot on the 13th, but I was wondering if she dropped a bit low and the higher pm number was a touch of a bounce. Yesterday she dropped 43 points (that we know of)... and 95 at night so tried a skip. 143 this morning! and she came back down fast; I thought it might take a cycle or two to get back towards 100.

What would you do with her next? Try the needle shot MrWorfMen's Mom described in the prior thread? I'm just guessing that jump to 143 means she isn't ready to NOT get insulin.

It’s not time yet. The ss is looking good however the PS numbers need to go green.

    I’m not understanding why you didn’t shoot that 95 on 03/14/PM. . .

My logic was, she dropped 43 points during the day and they are supposed to drop lower at night. so 95-40 would be 55 which is too low... and nobody would notice in the early hours of the morning. I suppose that logic doesn't work. we are still trying to figure her out, and paranoid about making her go hypo.

One cycle does not predict the next. Take a step back and evaluate the recent trends. Its important to look at and consider the slightly larger picture of what’s going on; 1-2 weeks, anything older is pretty much ancient history.

I’m looking at March 7-9. Five of the six PSs were green and the sixth was barely blue. And 3 of the 5 were 95 or under. You didn’t skip and shot the full dose for all. The result? Those 6 cycles are the best of your entire journey. String together 14 days like those 3 and although we recommend 0.1u as the next step down, you could attempt a trial.

To ease your worries about hypo - understand that 55 is a completely safe and beautiful nadir. What will ease your anxiety is to find out what is going on from PM+5 - PM +11, which is 1/4 of the whole picture. Right now your fear of that unknown is influencing your decisions in a manner that is counterproductive to getting more green PSs. Try and fill in the picture. For example get a PM+7 one night, a PM+10 another night, a PM+ 6 another night etc. In a week a picture of where your kittys BG actually goes on the overnights will emerge. You will then be “data ready” to shoot those green PSs.

Copy. She's at 185 tonight. should we go back up to 0.25 for a bit?

No. With Lantus dosing is based on nadir, not PS.
Since you skipped a shot, the cycle count starts again making tonight cycle 4 of 0.15. Hold this dose and at your earliest opportunity run a curve, testing every 2 hours for 12 hours or every 3 hours for 18 hours. The numbers will be your guide.

    Great information from Sandy!

You might want to take a look at some of the spreadsheets from kitties who are on OTJ ("Off the Juice") trials. The numbers are almost entirely in the greens. Keep posting is you have questions about the dose.

Well she was still solidly in the blues yesterday, and tossed out an 89 today which would be a dose reduction I guess under SLGS but will see what she does over the next few days.
