I want to really try and catch him before he heads up much. Sorry there was no one on this morning.

How about you test at +5. If he’s over 400, give him 0.5u R and test at R+1 and R+2 to start. If he’s below 400, give 0.25u. We do know that after +6, the Lantus will start to wane and he will naturally rise. While I’m tempted to have you give him 0.5u even if he’s still pink, we should be cautious and see how the 0.25u works after nadir if he starts below 400.

I hope you are keeping a log of his reactions to R so you can build an R scale. The R scale also can change. Again, reference Sarah’s on Pig’s SS that I linked. Biscuits might need to be different but you gotta start somewhere.

I also believe that you hav given R enough now that you could give it to him in the morning without anyone with you. Start with the premise that with an AMPS above 400, you’ll give 0.5u; below, you’ll give 0.25u. Test every hour after the R through R+4.

I’m usually up by +3 your time although I’m shortly back on the road and won’t be able to check in as much; however, I’ll be much closer to your time zone again so that might help some. After Monday, I’m home to stay for a while.

Feel like you can do this by yourself in the morning? You can always post if you get :nailbiting:

I'm so glad to see some variety of colors on Biscuit's spreadsheet. It's good to see things coming along with the R experiment. Love seeing him coming down today without the R! Come on Biscuit!!

You're doing great Sandie! Keep up the good work! :bighug:

Wrong way, Biscuits!! Maybe this dose will at least keep him in red...paws crossed.

See you at +2. If he’s flat or up at +2, I’d give him until +4.

Excellent that he’s not going up. He’s flat so he’s safe. You can test at R+3 if you want to know if he comes down a little more so we have some data or when he heads up or you can just wait until R+4.

Let me know if you want to try again later. Maybe +10?

I linked Pig’s SS yesterday. Open it and look st the R scale tab.

It’s just an example. But you would look at his patterns and determine how much R he would get when his BG is at certain levels.
Once you look at Pig’s, then let us know your questions.

There is no sheet. Sarah did that on her own. I can copy hers on to a tab on Biscuits SS for you and then you can modify it for him.

    Just let me know.

Correct. Glad you gave him more R.

I suggest you raise the dose tomorrow morning and not give R in the a.m. cycle.

Seems like the best way to keep track so helpers can see it too.
2 more +R tests. He's such a trooper with the constant poking ,as long as he gets his treat!!
We've only had 1 high so far.
    16u tomorrow. !!

I’m just going to put one tier of Sarah’s pre-SRT dose scale. But you’ll need to modify it soon so no one things that's how you are dosing R. I did add the first two dates: when we started and we’re shooting 0.25u for everything and today when we upped it to 0.5u for over 400.

You might want to send Sarah a PM and see if she can give you any pointers as to how she developed her R scale since I’m not really sure if the dates at the top on the top chart just indicate she re-evaluated the R dose for where his numbers were at that time, For an acro cat, that is likely going to be your need to do similarly since the L dose will continue to rise as well.

I just had a paper scale for Gracie because I either give her a drop or 0.1u and she was never above pink u til she got sick. It wasn’t too involved.

Good luck with the dose increase to 16u tomorrow.

The scale sheet seems confusing. I'll just keep a paper chart!
    How did Biscuits do today?

He did better today. Do you feel comfortable giving R on your own in the morning?

I increased the Lantus and I'll hold off on the R this morning. Won't be able to test on time

You are correct and I was not thinking. Thanks for remembering we don’t give R with dose increases. Sorry. Thirty lashes with a wet noodle for me!
