Looks like Ravan needed that tiny increase in insulin. His BG is better today.
Even thought his BG is better he just seems a bit off. Since this morning he's hardly eaten anything, just sleeping. Didn't even want to go outside.Neither did Peggy Sue???

It was nice this morning but now we're expecting "Severe" thunderstorms! Why is everything so dramatic now days? Years ago a thunderstorm was just a thunderstorm.
I once wrote a letter to a few newspapers & asked why no one had a newspaper dedicated to just GOOD News? They all wrote back & said that was tried years ago & the paper barely sold!

There was a study done that said people aren't even aware of it but they are addicted to the adrenaline rush when they hear bad news. How sad :(

I have always had only one TV in my house. It goes on at 7PM & off at 10PM (I don't watch the news) Some days I don't turn it on at all just read in the evening.

It's nice to see Ravan back in green. I'm sorry he seems off. Is he still sniffling? That could be the reason. When my cats get the sniffles from pollen, they sleep more and seem off. Sending prayers.

That is so sad about the good news/bad news. I've heard that before. I hate watching and/or reading the news. It's too depressing.

Ugh, the news is SO depressing! I agree!!

I'm really glad that Ravan's numbers are back to normal. I hope that the reason Ravan is off is just due to his allergies, try not to sweat it too much and try to enjoy the sunshine before the storm! maybe if you spend some time outside the kitties will follow!

As you said, maybe Ravan needed that little bit more insulin!
For the news, I heard that also; people are looking for bad news...!:( I hardly watch TV and no news for me either; if it's the end of the world, I'll know soon enough !!:D
Maybe it's the thunderstorm coming that they feel and don't like..!

They don't go out unless I'm with them. I saw a huge Hawk grab a big fat Squirrel right out of my tree & fly off with it! I won't take any chances with my Kitties!

My area is surrounded by Forest preserves. The Hawk that came in my yard may have been migrating in early spring. I spoke to someone at a Nature Center that said it sounded like a Ferruginous Hawk (never heard of that one) It's the Largest Hawk in North America. Wing span up to 56"
Sure put a scare in me for my cats! I don't think it could carry my cat off but it could attack it on the ground & severely hurt it.
Even smaller Hawk & Owls can hurt or even kill a cat.
I read Owls especially like cats!!!:arghh:

Jay-SUS! Definitely NOT worth the risk!

At my job we do something called "field level risk assessments" (FLRA for short). A previous boss of mine told us a story about a time that he had an eagle kicking around his property. He decided to execute an FLRA to determine if it was safe to let his cat out that week. After finishing he determined that he had better keep his cat inside. This cat also had a reflective vest for easy visibility at night (cute!!). Some people thought that he was going overboard to do an FLRA for his cat but I thought it was awesome! Such a safe kitty cat!

It sounds like you live in a really peaceful area! I grew up in the woods and now that I live in a town I find myself missing the sound of wind through the trees :)

Not exactly! When I moved here it was a new subdivision just starting. There was only one family owned grocery store :) I've been here for 44 yrs & now it's really gotten crowded They put up 2 big malls, that bring a lot of traffic.

The area is surrounded by forest preserves but the goofy people come here from the city & do not like the wild life. They always complain about the possums & raccoons that wander thru at night & an occasional coyote. I love seeing the animals in my yard.

If these people don't like it why don't they live in an apartment on the 5th floor somewhere? :arghh: Most of them are never in their yard anyway!

It's still pretty nice, a lot quieter than in the city. My perfect place would be at least a mile away from any people. Deer & all kinds of critters. I'd love that. Now that I'm older & on low income I feel like this is where I'll be till I die.:)

I guess it’s impossible to keep a nice place secret for long. Too bad though that it is so crowded. I guess worst comes to worst you could get a small camper and live some sort of recluse life in the woods :woot:
