I spaced on the Cerenia again, but will give some in another hour. But that was because I was in the middle of:

    Test (AMPS 311)
Fed some HC 20% gravy with some pate, maybe 15% mix, but it really perked her up and made her happy and I think she needs the calories.
4u (shot did not get moved up 15 minutes)
    Antibiotic (Veraflox)
    Buprenorphine

So she needs to go to the vet a little later and I am sad to stress her out....... and then I have to be gone for about 2.5-3 hours this afternoon for childcare but Alice has the other human and I will need to give instructions then.

Someone asked what I meant by shunt, I mean the IV port or whatever it is..... it is wrapped. Left in her leg in case she has a medical emergency overnight to need fluids etc.... last time she was in ER they had her skin so shredded up from all their attempts. But if she checks out okay today then she does not need it in still.......

So I guess I will ask if she can have more buprenorphine then...? Dose on that currently is 0.06mL orally.

    Thank you everyone.

I made her all these nice soft spaces with layers of various towels and rug and blanket, but she wants the pee pad in the bottom closet.

She ate a little more. She seems a little stoned out again. Going to let her rest. Her blood sugar is safe one way or another, she drank some more water. There’s not much I can do really but feed and medicate and keep up fluids and let her rest, right? I can catch a rest myself for one hour then jump back into her day and mine!

Bupre is given according to weight. And it comes in different strength so hard to know if it's enough or to much.

Ollie is 13 lbs. Her bupre concentration is 0.5 mg/ml. originally started getting it at 0.3 ml every 8-12 hrs. She needed it and it did make her a bit lethargic. Over time we got it down to 0.2 ml every 12 hrs and she does very well in it (it's a routine med for her, will always be on it). At times she needs more but it's far and few between.

if that's where she comfortable, that's fine. Leave out water and food, let her graze when she wants to. As long as you can hear her (baby monitor comes to mind) you could probably get 2 hrs rest at a time.

I agree just let her be where she wants to be. I'm glad she is eating some for you. I hope you can get some rest today. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Oh no I’m not worried about her chosen spot. I can still access her, but it’s a cabinet I took the door off of, not a closet really so it’s a little snug. :b

+2 is 281, about to admin the Onsior, fed her more HC/LC mix. She is eating very small amounts but that’s where HC comes in. And she was happy when I added the gravy part.

About to blow up her blood sugar again though via trip to vet then bring her home then leave it to other human for 3 hours, for some work.

Will ask about pain meds, thanks @Olive & Paula .

Okay due to conflicting schedules we are going to bring Alice in tomorrow to take IV thing out, port or whatever, and consult about pain meds etc. I prefer this. It allows her a day to rest without the travel trauma. We are slowly getting food in, sugar was not very changed between AMPS and +2 which also just feels...... easier.

Saw this story from a friend. Unrelated to Alice but has positivity. So sweet it made me cry. https://cheezburger.com/8567813/man...dog-passed-away-receives-an-oil-painting-as-a

    Hope others are well.

I hope she starts feeling better soon. Glad she ate the HC food it’s whatever she will eat for now. Did you try the baby food?

When Bubba has his eye removed , he wanted to be in my closet for a few days.

Make sure you check her paw occasionally to make sure it's not cold or swollen. Sometimes they wrap those things a little too tight

I would lean on the vet for bupe for pain management. Onsior should not be given for more than 3 days maximum. It is an NSAID which can be problematic when it comes to kitties and their kidneys. Also, a common side effect is anorexia which may contribute to Alice's lack of appetite.

I will definitely ask for more. The Onsior comes in a package with dates and specific doses just so she doesn’t get more than those 3 pills/3 days.

    +6 was 259, I was not home

Now it is +9 and I came in and she was up, she peed a little more on her own before, walking fine with the sleeve over her belly, and hungry!!!! Definitely hungry! :D

Will feel better when I get a ketone test in, too.

She had her first bowel movement!!!! Yay!

It was the weirdest poop ever. And I have quite a pathetically large collection of pics of her weird poops. So when I say this.... like.......
It has different really weird parts to it with weird textures I’ve never seen. Not consistency. I almost bagged it to bring to the vet but I figured weird weird poop post-anesthesia etc might be... normal???

One of my civvies is sick. :( :( :(

When we leave the catheter in (IV site on her arm), we flush it periodically with saline to make sure it is still patent/in the vein/not clotted. It might not be usable imo but like you said, it was probably for the night at home and now it's most likely useless. If only I could come over and take out the catheter! It's definitely not worth the trip just to take it off but it would be a great time to check in with the vet about her incision and meds.

Have you given buprenorphine (bupe) before? There's a specific way to give it so it absorbs better.

I'm glad Alice is hungry and eating! Yay!

And oh no! What's wrong with one of your civvies?

PMPS was 283, +2 is 270, so it is a comfortable surf for us both I think for now. She hasn’t had nearly enough to eat compared to normal..... normal for her.

Gave her some HC on top of the Sheba to entice her more plus I am laying down for just a little bit. Will set alarms but must be safe.

Ketone test opportunity right as I was preparing for +2! Negative to maybe trace. Maybe. :)

No. It said in the cheek sort of, right? But I explained what I thought and what it said and gave it to the other human as we were doing a series of things. I’m sure techniques could be improved.

Anorexia, diarrhea, starting since there was something foul he did and not in his usual box last night, to liquid I saw this evening..... came in to look at the food at dinner but then ran off. Sort of antisocial. Hiding in one room then the top of his tower. I don’t know. :\

Gonna shoot for a little nap..... hope everyone else is well. :bighug:

+8 179, but I topped her food at +2.5 with a little HC to encourage feeding and keep her sugar up while I napped.

Another small bowel movement between +2.5 and +8.... so that is also a good thing.

She’s up and willing to eat now too. :) <3

Civvie cat’s appetite is back too! And his social behavior. But he would not go for the pumpkin I was trying to give out. :b He’s never sick, glad to see he is on the mend too.

Alice ate some more. Nowhere near as much as she used to.... and it is clear she has lost some weight just from these past 2.5 days.
