I tried to give him fancy feast chicken feast with gravy but he did not want it. So I got some dry food and he is eating it up like crazy, I put a bit of syrup on it.

Dry food will take longer to be absorbed. 54 is a safe number. Test again in 20 mins
Your SS is not up to date as far as I can see.

It could take maybe an hour, I'm not sure but it takes longer than wet food as it needs to be broken down.
Did you try the gravy one again. Put 1 drop of honey or Karo on it.

Is there anything else you can offer him?
Failing that, get a bit of honey on your finger and rub on his gums

Can you tell me how much Lantus Grey is on please, and confirming you are using a human meter.

He is on 1.5units and I'm using relion prime meter. His number is 54 now. I gave him some temptation treats.

    Good. Well done.
Did you rub the honey on his gums?
    Thanks for confirming that.
Test again in 20 mins and we'll see where he is at. OK?
He is still early in the cycle so we need to be vigilant.. Do you know when his nadir usually is?
Once the dry kicks in he will probably go higher.

I did get some syrup on his gums. I'll keep testing him. I think his nadir is usually at +4.

    That's good to know.
I'll watch for your next test result.
Do you know why he won't eat? Is he unwell?
Will he eat the normal low carb?

He ate a lot of the dry food, I think he just doesn't like the smell of the high carb wet food.

If that happens again in the future, and he won't eat the high carb food, you can always put a drop of honey or Karo into some low carb food to raise the number of carbs and see if he'll eat that

    Wasn't the +3 54? Is the 55 +4 or +3.5

+4.5 57 so still surfing low but safe.
I think we need to do some more tests to ensure he doesnt drop lower again.

Grey has earned a reduction in dose with that 48, down to 1.25 units.
Tomorrow when you are less tired can you put the 48 in the SS so people can see he earned a reduction please?

Looking at your SS I can see you are not getting many inbetween the cycle tests in? Are you able to get a few in when not working like on the weeeknd or before or after work and in the pm cycle it is always a good idea to get a before bed test in to see if Grey is going to drop lower at night which a lot of of kitties do.

Sure thing. I will try to get more on top of taking tests again. I just became frustrated with his numbers not changing so I became bad at that.

Ok that probably is the dry food talking now!
Grey could well have dropped during the cycles before this and you would not have known. Doses are based on the nadir not the preshots so try and get some more in...that would be great.
Good to see you posting again. Please ask for help any time !
    Goodnight!

Nice teamwork on resolving the hypo. Kudos to Bron for coaching.

When Leo had hypos, I almost always gave a squirt of half water/half karo mixed. He did not always eat the gravy food, and the squirt got him out of danger. He had low-eating issues. Just saying the karo can be quite helpful.
