    Happy Caturday!

I am confused by Phoebe Squeak's numbers. Is this just lots of bouncing? In case there is any chance her fish oil supplement is raising her BG, I will stop it.
    I'd appreciate any thoughts.

    Thanks and enjoy the weekend!

Hi! Sorry I can't offer any dosing advice, but looking at your SS I wonder if it could be possible for you could do a curve today and tomorrow, or at least more frequent tests, to better get an idea what could be happening in the "blank spots". Might help you figure out what's going on :)

Thank you, Nikki. I was going to try to do a curve today, but I thought it didn't make sense on a day that her numbers are going up instead of down. I try to give her ears a break when I can. What do you think? Does it make sense to do a curve when the cycle is going in the wrong direction?

hi, i hope you don't mine me popping in when someone else was tagged...

You are right: it does not make sense to do curve when bouncing is in progress.
For most (but not all) cats on Lantus if the +2 is higher than the PS it mean that the cat decided to bounce and all you will get is flat high cycle - no info here, no nadir time is obvious. $ strips are wasted.

What I'd do tonight is to feed her as usual thru the day and then take either +10 or +11 and look at the results in its relation to the PMPS. If PMPS is lower than the AMPS +10 or +11 you might expect some action and it is the time to attempt the curve.

THANK YOU for popping in!!! I want all the help/advice possible. And thanks for your suggestion -- I appreciate it. Not sure I will be able to do an overnight curve tonight, but I will get an AM +10 or +11 and take it from there after I see the PMPS. Thanks again!

Hi, I'm sorry, I just got back to the computer...Thanks @Tanya and Ducia for helping because I have basically no experience with bounces! I just thought maybe a few more spots of data might be helpful...And even if you can't get a full curve, if you can even get a half asleep test at random hours of some nights, it might help you see some patterns that aren't visible now :) mind you, I'm very data-driven lol, and am trying to learn to cut back.

Have you tried any ear ointments? I swear by Polysporin Complete (with 3 antibiotic and pain relief). Made the biggest difference to Willow's ears :)

    With love, nikki

There may be some bouncing going on, but you could get a clearer picture if you are able to get some night time tests in during the second half of the cycle. It would have been interesting to see at least one more test last night to see if the kept going down.

All data is helpful. The more data (tests) the more patterns can be seen. I am not a good one at seeing patterns but many more experienced peeps here are! When looking for patterns they are looking through several cycles.

I doubt the fish oil supplement has anything to do with the higher BG.

Thanks again. I use Neosporin ointment with pain relief. I think it helps too. After lots of research I decided it was time for a dose increase, so I gave her 2 U tonight and I will test as much as possible.

Thank you. You are probably right about the fish oil. I decided to raise her dose to 2U for her PM shot after doing lots of reading on this site today. I will get as much data as possible. You are right -- more is better!

    @Amy47 @LizzieInTexas
    Thanks for checking on us.
YES! Big surprise this morning! We delayed her shot 2 hours and 15 minutes and then fed her and gave her a reduced dose of 1.9 because she was only at 133. Wow --things can change very quickly! As of +1.25 she was at 179, so I think we made the right call. Since she didn't actually dip below 68, I think we'll stick to 2U tonight, but I'll have my hypo kit ready. Could be another pajama party. Thanks again!
