    Good day!
Gabapentin .25ml seems to be making Tina hungry. I haven't seen her eat so excitedly in a while. Last night, my husband and I were in awe. This morning she ate a whole 3oz can of Paw Lickin' Chicken. Usually she saves some for noon. She is 1-2 pounds overweight.

Twice she gagged when I gave the gabapentin, and started drooling a bit :( At least I got her eating again pretty fast the second time. I'm near a compounding pharmacy - maybe I can get some that tastes like "chicken" . . . if we continue using. Hope so. She is possibly walking better, but lazy so far. The little bit we have, was just given to us from the vet's supply.

    Have the best day possible!

I hope the Gabapentin helps her.

Thanks Carla! I think it might be - she ventured to a different place in the living room and was just standing there. I took her to the bedroom with me for different scenery, and she is practically glowing, hanging out in the middle of the bed. She's letting me massage her legs gently and loves it. So the bedroom may be the hangout for a while. There are stairs off the bed and she's using them again! But she is a hungry hippo.

It all sounds really positive Jan, the vet visit and especially her appetite. I gave Leo Zobaline as soon as I heard about it here and it seemed to work way before Leo was close to being regulated. He had neuropathy so bad that he couldn't walk at all and if I remember correctly we saw improvements after about 3 weeks to a month.

Tina's a lucky kitty to have you! :bighug:

Oh Sonia, that is great to hear about the Zobaline! Leo is a very lucky boy you know!

I had left the bedroom for too long earlier, and Tina came right back to her living room. She seems a bit better, but I do need patience. She only started Zobaline a week ago. Was a bit of a shock to see her food turn red - but I looked it up again to learn the red is normal.

    Thanks again :bighug:

Good news that Tina is eating well again and maybe she'll like the chewables better! Very happy for you, it's so nice when we start having solutions that work ! :)

It's exciting to feel like we are moving forward - with all this help. I'm so thankful.
I called the vet's office, but since our doc is out today, it may be tomorrow before we get a change; hopefully the Gourmeds chewables. I know they can make a better tasting liquid at the least. Tina has taken different oral meds, and she's never had a gagging or drooling reaction before.

I have high hopes we get to see it Christa!

She seems 5-10 years older than just the end of last year. I hope we can gain a few years of youth back, in a sense. It's all heartbreaking and sweet at the same time. We are bonding like crazy, again, and I suspect most of you know what I mean.
