Don’t quite understand where Nelli BG numbers are going?!? o_O.
Three NS in past seven days and a FS this AM. Dropped her down (2nd tim, 7 days) again tonite-
Have given reduction (against protocol), twice in last seven days. Wait and see how her little pancreas responds. Reduction tonight NOT, of course what vet recommended :eek:even tho I told him I move in .25 increments. He responded by telling me based upon all her green numbers recently she should be fine down at one unit… That she’s probably getting ready to go in remission o_O :p... And I thought in my head at time.. Hmmm .
New vet today. Need to focus on his CHANGES sheet (see attached)- hopefully before bed if not first thing in AM.
Hope everyone is happy and feeling good :bighug:
    Love,

Nelli's numbers do look good. Maybe her pancreas is sputtering. I'd be careful about decreasing too fast. You don't want to lose momentum and then have to go back up. I'd stick with 0.25 unit adjustments.

@carfurby Carla, this decrease gave me a LARGE paw. I will tell you, I am not going to be behaving like this again- risky at minimum and like you said the loss of momentum would really be a shame :blackeye:
There are tried and true guidelines here on this Forum that I have learned.
    Time. Hope I didn’t foul up :(

Maybe it's starting to work properly again and produce it's own insulin. That's what happens when a cat goes into remission.

Why does he want you to give Miralax just 3X a week? With her constipation issue I’d give it daily. I would have cut to 1.25 as you did. She’s making really good progress. By sputtering I assume Carla means her pancreas is starting to work.

Krystina - so good to see you and Naughty Nelli in your own condo!
It does look like Nelli's pancreas is sputtering and attempting to do it's job . . . looking really good. I like the idea of consistent dosing at 1.25 and then down to 1U, like your vet said, haha! It can be hard to know exactly how to balance what the doctor says with what might be a better idea.
    You know, I'll bet:)

I mentioned to him... it’s my understanding that it’s not good to keep a kitty on Miralx long term... he said he’s got kitties that have been on it for a long time and are ok- went on to suggest I give it to her three times a week.
Her constipation issue scares the hell out of me. I desperately want to get her gut bacteria healthy- naturally (https://felineconstipation.org/prevention.html#FiberorPrebiotics)... thank yo again so very much (@tiffmaxee) for introducing me to this excellent site :bighug:
