    Yesterday

    Good Friday the 13th.

My dad goes in for his head testing (what he calls it) today. Cuss cuss dementia! Then it's the family meeting again to discuss how bad he is, and future plans. We already know it's bad and getting worse almost every week.

We are having creep up. Not bad, but the bookends are inching up. No green since the 10th, when I actually had a PMPS of 88. Any wise words to shut me down? It's no big deal, but still gets me a little.
I'll admit I gave a tiny bit extra juice this morning, maybe an extra drop, which would be closer to .75 than .62 (normal).
If feels like we may be on this small dose forever. I need to get this cat playing more - maybe that will fix her! I don't feel any reductions coming. Maybe that's good, since I have to be away a little more, unfortunately. I probably need to tamp down my hope of coming off the juice. Patience? Or what?

Gosh, I'm so sorry you are going through so much.
    Tina is beautiful.
I don't know enough to advise you on dosing, but I hope wiser folks will weigh in.
In terms of exercise, I know this won't work for everyone, but Phoebe Squeak just got a little "brother" and now they run all over the place. It's really helped her. I'm not giving up my hope of getting Phoebe Squeak OTJ someday even though doctors tell me it's unlikely. I've read many great stories on this message board that give me hope. Hang in there and try to do something nice for yourself. Wishing you all the best.

Sorry about your dad's condition. I am in your same shoes and no one knows what it is like until you live with that person 24/7. My heart goes out to you and to your family.

Better on a small dose than a large dose, don't you think? See what happens today after giving that extra drop.

And remember, you are following AlphaTrak2 which makes a BIG difference in the graph colors:D

J.J. thank you so much. Tina started with pretty bad neuropathy, and is a whole lot better now. I would love to have a kitty to run her around, but she has 5 civvies, all age 11, eek! They are still "young" though. I have a fishing rod with a spider she loves to chase. I need to get her involved in more of that!
Congrats on acquiring your young new Phoebe friend!! Sounds like you did well:)

So sorry for what you're going through! :bighug::bighug:
Tina is doing so good; look at the colors on her SS, not long ago it was PINK, now she's BLUE with GREENS with hardly any juice!
I think you need to go get your Patience Pants.... :p
I hope your day will be OK! :bighug:

Thank you Debra. Should I just leave well enough alone? I'm sorry I seem to be so stubborn. My thinking has been that I won't get her off insulin if I don't get those numbers consistently between 80-120. Maybe my kitty just wants .62 and I need to quit striving for perfection and be happy we are in a good place. I'll see what I've done to her today with that extra drop.
My heart is with you too. Big Hugs.

Me too. It isn't a surprise, really. Not feeling alone, and knowing loving people care, makes the journey better:bighug::bighug: You, try to have a wonderful weekend ok, and adore your wind chime gift:cat:

Kitties can be in this stage for awhile, no increase or decrease just staying flat in normal numbers. I believe it's Stage 3 from the Roomp and Rand protocol. Then one day when the pancreas is all well and healed, kitty decided it's long enough and your off to the trials.

I read a story about an experiment with people with Dementia. They Played music from the time the person was young, age 16 to 21 Everyone reacted favorably. Some even began reminiscing & telling stories about things that happened
when they were that age. Might be worth a try?

Some cats get regulated on a certain dose. (unless "They" decide to change it  ) A while back I got excited that Ravan's dose was so low I thought he might go into remission! But he changed his mind & went right back up again!

Now I do NOT get excited. Ravan's gonna do whatever he wants. I'm just following along!

I'm so sorry about your dad. I see Tina read what you posted and gave you a green today. When you're having a hard time seeing if you've made any progress go to the top of your SS and scroll down. Tina is looking good.

Thanks so much Paula. I need to sit down and read from the R&R protocol. I've wanted to, and couldn't get myself tamed enough to do so. I know I would enjoy reading and learning straight from the source.

Thanks so much Joy! I need my head adjusted - less anxiety, more patience, and quit thinking the only success is perfect numbers or getting off insulin. If it happens, ok; if not, ok. Tina is also going to do what she's going to do:)

Jan :bighug: I know being patient is so hard when we just want our precious babies to be better... Tina is doing fantastic!! Enjoy her wonderful progress. I always love Tina updates, like Ms. Fancy Paws and her standing proudly about her nice numbers!

Sending so many vines to you and your family. Please do something healing for yourself today if you can :)

So sorry about your dad...it's tough taking care of elderly parents. My dad passed away in June at 92 from Alzehimer's...my mom is 89 and it seems like a part of her becomes more child-like every day...dementia is hard to deal with ...

Tina really looks good - try to enjoy those nice blue numbers. You could always do an increase and give her a 'push'. I've been pushing Luci along for quite a while now - wish she was on a smaller dose! I feel like she's really sucking down that Lev...she's been at this dose for over a month! We just walked up to that amount from our start-over dose with Lev...oh well...like you said...they're in charge here. Relax and she'll let you know when she's ready for a change :)

    Have a good day Jan!
