    yesterday http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/...pmps-182-escape-artist-found-and-safe.220262/

Well, with a 283, it looks like he got into something when he escaped the house last night - probably the kibble on the porch. It felt like he had a pretty full belly when I carried him in last night. The little stinker knows where kibble is at all times - indoors or outdoors. This too shall pass.

The weather is changing here and we are supposed to have 40 mph wind gusts today and it supposed to go down into single digits tonight. Winter held off for as long as it could.

Blessings to all kitties and their beans today.

At least you know why he's high. He will come back down soon enough. Your weather sounds crazy with that wind.

I 'm glad you have a vet that will come to the house. Like you, our vet only makes large animal home calls. Tucker probably falls into the no anesthesia category now with his diabetes and slightly enlarged heart. I brush his teeth almost every night and put a gel on them.

This is what I use and it doesn't affect his BG that I know of. I try to put it on after he's had his bedtime drink of water and after brushing his teeth. His bedtime routine with pills, eye drops and dental care actually take longer than mine.

@Beth 73 Hey Beth one of the members told me about this toothpaste and says it doesn't effect the BG , their vet advised it There are all different flavors. You don't have to brush their teeth if you don't want to, You can just rub it in the gums. I am thinking about trying it myself for Tyler. Most likely I'll try brushing his teeth, fat chance he will let me though lol, if not I'll just rub it on his gums. Tape on below All Petsmile Products and you can read about @Beth 73

Did you know brushing your pet’s teeth daily with Petsmile Professional Toothpaste will help them live happier, healthier, longer lives? Just like you, cats and dogs also get cavities, lose teeth, experience receding gums, and get periodontal diseases such as gingivitis. Using Petsmile daily will significantly improve the oral health of your dog or cat. It’s been proven that good oral health will help prevent heart, liver, and kidney diseases.

Veterinarian recommended Petsmile is the first and only toothpaste accepted by the VOHC (Veterinary Oral Health Council) for plaque inhibition, with Calprox. The VOHC recognizes that Petsmile meets the highest standards for your pet’s oral health.

Petsmile’s proprietary formula Calprox is clinically proven to inhibit plaque and tartar buildup by gently dissolving the protein pellicle. The protein pellicle is the thin bio-film that forms on the surface of the teeth, to which plaque, bacteria, and stains adhere. Removing the pellicle leaves your pet’s teeth cleaner and whiter while improving gum health and providing kissable fresh breath.

Petsmile is formulated with human-grade ingredients. It contains calcium, magnesium, phosphates, to re-mineralize and restores enamel. Petsmile is BPA-free, silica-free, sulfate-free, paraben-free, gluten-free, allergy-free and vegan.

The no fuss no brush formula makes it easy to improve and maintain even the fussiest pet’s oral health. Simply apply Petsmile on your cat or dog’s teeth and let their tongue do the rest. Your pet can immediately eat or drink after applying Petsmile, no need to wait. However, for best results, we recommend brushing your pet’s teeth with a toothbrush or use ourPetsmile Applicator Swabs once or twice a day. The great taste that pets love makes it easy to use Petsmile as a healthy treat up to 2 times a day

I hope LT has left those lemons behind for the day? He's a smart little fellow isn't he? Think maybe that's why he ran out - 'cause he knew right where the food went off to!

Gotta admire his hutzpah! Dread that cold weather getting here...are you seeing any snow yet?

Thanks, Diane !!! I've always brushed their teeth but also regular cleaning . Elmo got to a place several years ago where it was not wise to do so . All you can do is all you can do ...this Board is full of people who do just that ❤️

I thought I'd do a curiosity BG and it's 96 @ +7. I'm wondering if it dropped because a friend dropped by for the afternoon and brought her 2 and 4 year old. LT thinks children are aliens so he spent a couple of hours under my bed. Anyways, it could be higher when we hit PMPS, but it's nice to see a green.

I wish we would see some snow but none in the forecast that goes out 10 days. It's so dry here that there's a fire ban up in the mountains. LT did get tired of the lemon trees and on a random check this afternoon was at a 96 - he's nothing if not consistent.

It's nice to see him so lively these days. I'm hoping that we can keep him "off the kibble" and let his body sort things out. Our "special" boys always keep us wondering what's going to happen next. I hope you know how much you and Elmo inspire us with your laughter, encouragement and determination.
