Yesterday Good morning, AMBG 101, bupre. on board My little boy isn't feeling well. He was in the litter box 4 times last night; I think the tumours in his bowel are making him feel like he has to poop. He's gained weight and his sides have expanded....we know it's not because he's eating too much so I'm assuming it's the fluid that is caused by the cancer. His tummy is hard. He's still eating when I place the dish in front of him.....and when he decides where he's going to lay I place the dish nearby and sometimes he does eat it later on. He's still being social and yesterday was coming to me for head scratches and jumping up on the couch to sit with DH. I have an appt for a hair cut at 10:00 but other than that I will be hanging with Boomer today.
He's laying on his little kitty pads on the spare bed right now and just ate a full 1.5 servings of food!
I'm glad Boomer ate for you. I hope he feels better as the day goes on. Remember there will be good days and bad days and it is up and down with cancer. Just try not to think about tomorrow and make the most of today. I know it is not easy. Sending prayers.
That was some appy there. Is he pooping ok? Could be gas. Ollie gets that way from time to time. Then all of a sudden it's gone. I know there are other issues, maybe it's just simple gas.
I was thinking the same thing as Paula - maybe it was gas?? Bupe can cause constipation - is he on anything to help him poop? I'm so glad he had a hearty breakfast....sounds like he is feeling better. Vines and prayers that he has a good day now!!
I was gone for about an hour to get my hair cut. He hadn't moved from where he was laying on the bed and the remainder of the food hadn't been touched but I got him some fresh food and he ate almost the entire serving! DH tells me that there were 3 small poops in the lb this morning.....he hadn't gone the day before and I was concerned the tumour might be blocking it. He does have gas.....we hear it when he's in the lb I am putting clearlax in some of his meals.
Judy, would a heating pad be a comfort for him ? I'm sure he already has one knowing you ❤️ Sending prayers and in agreement with Carla as she speaks wisdom from experience , sadly
Yay for happier appy!! Someone here - I think it was @Tricia Cinco(GA) & Harvey - used baby gas drops for one of her kitties, I think. That could be a good question for Dr Larry. With the bupe as part of his routine, he may need a tad more clearlax??? Just a few random thoughts to consider.
Sending lot of hugs your way. Good news on his appy. When civvie Theo got hard belly from fluid build up, he wanted the softest cushiest bed to support him, but let his belly sink in. Maybe double up some pads?
No, we considered it but the Dr that did the ultrasound said that the cancer was throughout his abdomen and that it was aggressive.
Yes, instead of getting on his desk this morning he got onto the bed and laid on a pile of 3 pads. At night he's been laying on the end of our bed on the folded up duvet. This morning when I got up he was in a cat bed in our living room....where he's never laid before....but it's got a cushy thick cushion in it. A few weeks ago he discovered what we used to refer to as our civvie Allen's "hidey hole" among the four pillows on the spare bed, and he spends most afternoons in his hidey-hole. I fixed it up for him earlier so it's nice and cushy and he's laying there now.
Oh Judy. I'm glad he's eating...sorry to hear about his tummy. I hope he's comfortable and rests easy. Poor baby...my heart goes out to you. Think of you and Boomer every day. Take care.
Lots of hugs Judy! And I did not know Boomer was DX with cancer in the bowel. Ugh. Not being online daily , I really miss a lot. Now I know why Jamie sends prayers daily to you and Boomer. Sigh. The bup always constipates Bubba. I hope you can get him to stay comfortable .
