    Hi Darcy,

Jonesy might be bouncing from lower numbers last night or from just extended time spent in lower numbers than usual. It is also looking like the first time Jonesy has seen two blue PS numbers in a row. Congrats!

I would suggest getting a before bed test. It is so important especially because some cats go lower at night. The test before bed should tell you if they’ll be surfing safely or not. Most do a test at +2 or whenever onset is for their kitty.

Also have you decided one a dosing method yet?

It looks like a bounce from however low he went yesterday. A before going to sleep test is a good idea, even if they PMPS number is high.

Hmmmmm, I guess I should read up on that, yes? ;) Btw, thanks for the heads up re doing a +2, he's dropped down to 86, so I'll test him again in about an hour, hour and a half.

I would feed him some food since that’s quite a drop.

If you are doing SLGS, you would reduce. If you’re following TR, I’d stay on this dose for now since we saw some greens.

    Hi Crista,
He's now at 59.4. Should he get some kibble?
    Thanks!!

That’s still safe. I would feed him a little bit of LC again and test in an hour. If you’re worried or about to sleep, half an hour can work too.

Do you have HC gravy foods? Or just the kibble?

Hmmm, pretty much just kibble, or corn syrup. I don't think it's time to crack the seal on the corn syrup yet, agree?

    No not yet.

I’d get familiar with this page and get some high carb gravy foods ASAP. Kibble takes too long to work in the system and stays longer too.

Let’s see what the next test is and decide what to do. You may need to stay up or wake up periodically throughout the night to make sure Jonesy is safe. Just part of the dance of feline diabetes, unfortunately. We all eventually become trained to take naps (or am sleep deprived some nights :banghead:)

Okay, will check your link. Yes, I've had the not so lovely experience of "pajama parties" with my old guy, Lebowski (GA) ;) I'll check him again in an hour. Honestly, I'm in habit of buying VERY specific flavours that I literally just load up with "trays" of the right food and forget that I need some of the contraband stuff in my cupboard *face palm*

    No! No kibble.
I suspect he's contacted a lawyer about this and I should be expecting a subpoena any day now ;)

"a bulb syringe and lube" Yikes! I'd rather chance the speeding ticket getting him to emergency! heehee

LOL it sounds crazy but hey, better prepared than sorry. I do admit I don’t have lube in my kit but I do have syringes and I’m sure a one time poke in the bum without lube will be fine. Sometimes in an emergency, safety trumps comfort.

My one hope is no one ever has to do that.

He was willing to eat some cooked chicken for me (by hand, fed piece by piece . . . of course) I know it is low carb, but hey, he likes it.
I'm going to go hunt through my Cat Stash of food and see if I've got any gravy goodness . . .

EDIT: Nope. No luck. All my cat food is healthy and all of MY food is junk ;)
