I'm not experienced with Lantus, I'm a ProZinc user, but I do know that if you shoot at +3, you'll end up changing your entire dosing cycle, and then trying to walk it back in 15 minute increments. If it were me, I would just skip the dose. Yes, Zazzy might have higher numbers for the remainder of the cycle, but better the high numbers than risking a dangerous hypo. Even if morning preshot test is high, don't be tempted to increase dose. By your spreadsheet, Zazzy seems to be telling you she's ready for less insulin.

I'm sure more experienced members will be in to help, but you were smart to skip the dose. If you test for ketones, a skipped dose is a good time to test.

Thank you, that was my logic in skipping too. I guess her high AMPS this morning has me second guessing since we also had to skip last night. We actually just did a reduction this morning. I definitely wouldn't mind reducing more, but I think right now she's just bouncing weird from last night. At least now I have some +1 and +2 data so I'll be more comfortable shooting lower numbers in the future.

Once again, I don't have the experience of some of our members, but I went through something similar with the skipped doses and higher morning readings when my Billy was going into remission. Fingers and toes crossed for Zazzy! If it were me, I might go ahead and try a .50 dose in the morning. It is better to find a level where you can do two shots a day, if possible. And you can always increase back to .75 if Zazzy's BGL hasn't settled in after a few cycles.

Hey, I'm usually asleep by 8:30 pm east coast time. When you posted was waaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy past my normal "count the little sheep" time.

Lantus insulin depot is draining a bit from the last 2 skipped shots. Let's see what the 0.5u dose does.

Do you know how to get more eyes on your daily thread over in the Lantus forum? First, change the title on your post to include the test numbers you are getting. Then you need to have the question mark prefix on your post to let people know you are looking for info.

People "scanning the Lantus forum" look at the thread title to alert them to someone that needs help. Very busy there, and never enough people to open every thread to see what is going on. They use the thread title to alert them to danger.

Threads that have replies get bumped to the top of the queue. If your post is falling too far down the list, reply to your own thread with the word "bump" and click on "Post Reply."
