Since I was able to get an amps I thought I'd shoot for the moon and try to get a curve today. Surprisingly,Claudio wasn't too resistant. At least until the 8+ test. Then he got really agitated. But I did it !!! I have a sneaking suspicion he won't be cooperating for an amps tomorrow. I am sooo proud of him for letting me do a curve. For most of you, this isn't a big deal. But if you saw the pic of how he attacks me, you'd understand that this was a major accomplishment. Just had to brag :p

Congratulations and well done! All data is good data, and it is so nice to see some blues in there! You need a serious treat for a reward...chocolate or wine, take your pick but either way great job :)

Thanks everyone. I don't know what's making me happier, that I did it or that I saw 2 blues. I keep telling him that blue is a boy's color. And that he would look really good in green. Now I'm gonna need help when I start posting on the Lantus forum. Like how to link the previous day's post for a continuous thread. One step at a time.

If I can get an amps I'll be there tomorrow. Fingers crossed. He can be cantankerous in the morning. He is definitely not a morning type kitty.

Hot Hoover DAM! Madam Susan is fantabulous. What a thrill to get your first curve done.

You could practice linking posts here. Try it and see if you get it to work.:joyful:

Have you heard of Feliway spray? Just a thought, but I have a petsitter who mentioned she has a particularly difficult cat, she sprays some Feliway on her hands before she visits. Feliway can help keep them calmer. I'm not sure if it works on every cat though. I recall my vet carried the product, but there are likely other sources out there, maybe a wee bit less than at the vet's.

I've been waiting for you to see my post. You, if anyone knows what a hard time getting a test I had.
Here's the weird part... After every test he didn't want a treat and he just sat there next to me. I fully expected him to beat feet (paws) away from me.

My problem is that he is under my bed before I wake up. I cannot physically get him out from under the bed. This is what happened the last time I almost got him out. [IMG]

Yes, I have seen your previous dilemma and posts. You had others posting and helping at the time, so I didn't.

Sorry. I didn't mean to come off callous towards you. He means business when he doesn't want to be forced to do something he doesn't want to do.
AMPS is the only time I have a problem if he's under the bed. If he's not under there, then he'll cooperate. Not happy, but he'll let me test.

Not at all! No harm, no foul, I tend to follow a lot of main health posts and if people are getting good help, I don't feel the need to jump in. You had no way of knowing that :)

Are you saying that Claudio is coming to "tolerate" the testing? Not loving it yet, but "grumbly" acceptance? I'm picturing him in my mind, grumbling under his breath, saying "Hurry up mom, I'm starving here. Let's call it a wrap."

Should we call him Claudio the Curmudgeon? Or Claudio the Cranky? Or Cerulean Claudio, for those blues he got today?

Claudio would look good in a blue scarf.

Yes. Tolerate. I think Curmudgeon is the purrfect description of him. Old and grumpy. I'm gonna tell him tomorrow that Deb & Wink said that blue is his color, lol.
