He started to fight me again yesterday evening, hadn't done that in a few days. Hopefully my new lancers and lancets come in soon. He hates me free handing lancets but I've ran out of the ones that fit the lancer. Today is going to be a rough day. I hope this week will go by smoother though.
Great appetite and didn't mind the injection. I washed an old cat bed I've had since forever that they only used a few times years ago, well he slept on that last night. Really surprised me. He looked comfy.
I hope everyone has a great Saturday!

He's so adorable. I'm glad your package is supposed to arrive today. It takes a while to get used to free handing with the lancets.

Welp, no mid-day test. He fought me, A LOT. I tried testing his left ear (good ear) but he wouldn't let me grab the blood and was attacking me. It seems to be sensitive and a little itchy. Going to use an ear wash again, I usually do every other month or if it seems dirty, maybe that will help. I haven't been able to test on that ear for over a week because he always attacks me, today was no exception.
I tried the other ear (bad ear) and I got blood but he was still attacking me so I couldn't grab it, not enough anyway. Now, I could just test on that ear exclusively but there's not enough room where it's injured and he may have it removed soon due to possible skin cancer on it so I have no idea what to do. He hates his paws touched so paw pads are a no go. I'll just have to keep working with him.
I tried the cat burrito but he struggled and broke out every time. He was too stressed so I offered him chicken and let him go, fed him his lunch. He's laying in the cat bed now.
I tested the lancers and lancets on myself and they have a bit more bite to them compared to ones I was using prior. I have a feeling that's going to make it even harder on him. My hope has waned a bit but I know it has to be done.
A continuous glucose monitor is starting to sound a little better to me right about now.

What a complete 360, he did wonderful for his PMPS. Seemed a little nervous and ready to leave soon but other than that no attacking me, not even pushing my hand away. One poke and done. Used one of the new lancers, 28 gauge. He seems fine with it.
Also, gave him his bi- yearly shower today, didn't get clawed at all during that surprisingly. Maybe he felt a little better being all clean. He did superb during testing. Food and injection great as always.
Now that I have plenty of lancets and a couple of lancers I'll try to get some +1, +2, +10, and +11s to get some extra data, slowly increasing of course since he's pretty sensitive to change.
Happily surprised, rollercoaster of emotions today.

Here's Thomas after having a shower then his PM test and injection still grooming himself. Upset that I interrupted him.
20200215_184709.jpg 20200215_184635.jpg This is my other cat Hidee, she's about a third the size of Thomas and weighs less that 5 lbs. She's named Hidee because she always hides and runs away from everything. No idea why, she's been like this since we got her when she was 1 year old. Her prior family was wonderful, they found her as a kitten in a hole in their backyard hiding so she must have been so scared as a kitten that it carried on with her to adulthood. Random backstory lol. Also, she's a picky cat and refuses dry food, has always eaten wet food, so I guess that's a good thing knowing what I do now. A little too picky though, she hates eating the same thing twice in a row and wants to eat exclusively fish.

Thank you! I have seen those before, forgot about them though. I think I'll buy a couple, couldn't hurt to have them on hand. Hoping to buy some feliway spray too. It seems to help when they spray it at the vet, he rolls around on the floor and allows belly rubs too!

Sometimes I find less is more...some kitties just absolutely hate being restrained. Even my Mav who is usually cool as a cucumber ran off on me a few times, usually when I was desperate to get that blood test and tried to force him to stay still. Hoping the Feliway spray helps, that does seem to calm many kitties. I can't remember if I posted this to you before, but my cat sitter swears by it. She has a particularly difficult kitty, and she puts Feliway spray on her hands before she visits.

Alright Thomas, time to shake things up! Just a comment, I'm counting the cycles and you are on cycle 12 of the same dose. I'd think about bumping him up to 1u, with TR you could have done so a few cycles back ;). He's not done much other than high blues with this dose.

I agree, I wanted to start on Friday but this whole weekend I had plans of being out of the house for a few hours so I'm not able to monitor him. I'll start Monday for sure and make sure to increase sooner in the future. Thanks!

Oh yes, I do remember you mentioning that. Thank you for the additional clarification, I always want to make sure I can monitor with a new dose too :)
