Good Morning L, B, & L~ I hope everyone is healthy. I have had contact with Jamie and while they are okay health , Jamie’s husband lost his job during this pandemic. Jamie was able to pick up another job and DH is looking without much success. As you can imagine essential businesses are turning away applicants left and right. Jamie just doesn't have time to post right now and I just wanted everyone to know. Send prayers ! Everyone stay healthy!
That's awful he lost his job. There are probably many people in that situation right now. Sending prayers. Thanks for posting Bobbie.
Glad to hear Jamie and DH are healthy! I’m temporarily out of work during this time too, no one needs to be getting their teeth cleaned right now!
How’s your dental practice handling the shut down? Will their practice insurance pay your salary Or do you have to collect?
So sad for Jamie and her husband! Sending prayers! At least they are in good health! Thanks for updating us, Bobbie!
Hanging in there, thanks for asking. Bronx would've loved this, I never leave the house haha. How are things in PA?
I work for two dental offices and they are both closed until further notice, we have no date for when we might be able to go back to work at this point. I work for two small, private dental offices so neither are paying their employees anything, they can’t afford it We can use sick time or vacation time if we have any, but we’re advised to file for unemployment so that’s what we’ve all done. I filed last Monday and got paperwork in the mail this Monday, but no payment yet. Still waiting for the debit card to be sent, but that can take 7-10 business days as well. The max amount of unemployment in California is $450 a week.
Thanks for the update Bobbie. Good to hear Jamie found some extra work. Grocery stores and warehouses (shipping/stocking) are all busy right now and looking for more people here. Dental offices are emergency only here. There was a large dental conference in Vancouver where an infected person attended. It caused many cases in Canada, plus I think some elsewhere. All who attended at that time are in quarantine. One dentist in my town passed.
Ya, same here for California. My offices are only open for emergencies so me being a dental hygienist, my work is not essential right now. And even if it were, we don’t have the proper protective equipment to keep ourselves safe. Our normal masks don’t protect us from COVID—19 so once we do go back to work, we will have to wear n95 or p100 masks and shields.
Paul , I can imagine how much Bronx would have loved having you under foot all day! That is one plus to people being on lock down right now. We are hanging in there. My mom fell Sunday night and either broke vertebrae in her back or a very bad sprain and soft tissue damage. As you can imagine , the hospital is not someone I want either of us to be right now. Either scenario , broken or sprained are treated the same , rest, ice, compression and elevation at home. So, I’ve been very busy with dispensing pain relief, icing her, now applying heat around the clock and hoisting her up to get her into a wheelchair. Very tiring. This girl has to start some core strengthening exercises to protect my own back. Stay healthy! It was nice to see you!
Thanks for update Bobbie. These are difficult times. I hope everyone who has lost their job finds some other work or gets unemployment benefits. It’s the same here in Australia. So sad. Stay well everyone
These are difficult times. Thanks for the update Bobbie. Sorry about your mom. I'm certain that Jamie's DH can find some employment - there are a zillion postings here in Florida for workers - not fancy jobs, but delivery places, Domino's, Walmart/Sam's and all of the grocery stores are clamoring for warm bodies to help deliver and stock - most likely the pay isn't great either...but they will put anyone who's vertical to work - at least temporarily.
@Bobbie And Bubba, just noticed your post about your Mom...oh my goodness I'm sorry! I'm glad you have her at home too! Hospitals are no place to be if you can help it. Sending many vines to your Mom
