My cat is Meggie, she is 9 years old. She was diagnosed with diabetes in June 2017. She is currently on 4.5 U of ProZinc, but her BG levels are really high (300-500 range). I always felt that this wasn't right, but the vet said she was doing fine. I started looking in to support groups and really researching a bit and as of last Thursday (1-26-18), I started being proactive and am not strictly listening to the vet anymore. I have converted her over to Fancy Feast pate from Purina DM and Hills W/D (they think she has pancreatitis). I have a ReliOn Conform micro glucometer now and I am checking her BG levels. I am working on curves now. I'm getting better at sampling her blood, but she really doesn't like being held. With the diet change, she seems like she is already feeling a little better and her numbers have dropped down ~100 or so.

FD Dx 6-23-17; ProZinc started 6-30-17; switched to Levemir/TR as of 2-15-18; started monitoring BG at home 1-25-19; several bouts of being treated for pancreatitis with fluids and Cerenia injections (12-18-17; 1-3-18; 1-16-18); ultrasound 1-4-18--results were that everything 'looked normal')
