I'm a retired lab tech that has been married to the same great man for 35 years. Our home is located in Colorado's beautiful San Luis Valley (aka, middle of nowhere). We have a menagerie of animals: 5 cows, 2 horses, 2 donkeys, 1 mule, 6 hens, 1 dog, Tucker, who is diabetic, and 3 cats. The oldest cat, LT is our diabetic. Having a diabetic dog is much different from a diabetic cat. Tucker, like about 75% of diabetic dogs, went blind a few months after diagnosis even though we home-tested and tried to get him regulated. I'm also a moderator on FBs CDSI (canine diabetes and support information) which helps me just about absolutely zero when it comes to a cat. The only thing in common is they both need insulin and they both need BG testing.
