    Yesterday

Zener still has a bit of extra happy appy this morning, left over from yesterday's cypro dose. I have to say that I don't mind not chasing him with his bowl.  Detective Poo also spotted the suspect in action and has a nice report to file. Zener is back napping on a bed, I'm not sure if it's with sleeping Anne or on the heating pad in her office.

OT: I did my 10k race yesterday although I think it was more like 5.5 or 5.7 miles rather than a true 6.2 miles. But this is Flagstaff and these things are rather loosey-goosey.  It is a hard race on a trail and some hills. I was pretty wiped out yesterday but recovering today.

Paws crossed for OTJ trials for Gobbles and Zoey! :D :D :D Be sure and visit Michelle's new kitties, Lola and Bug. :D :D Thinking of ailing kitties and beans. Happy Sunday LL!

Morning Liz, oh boy on the Zener cypro and the happy appy! I know it's not funny; I just remember my one kitty's reaction to Mirtz with his happy appy and so vocal! I'm glad all is okay. I can't wait to hear from Anne on Zener's yard patrol. Sounds like Zener was very active last night.

Congrats on the 10K even if it was a little short of it! Very impressive and with the trail and hills, that should count for extra miles. I hope the weather was okay. It's been warm and sunny here, unusual for our May gloom. Have a great day all of you.

Congrats on the 10K Liz! Glad you had a hungry kitty today.
I had to use Mirtz on one of my kitties (who has since passed), and he began walking backwards, and then peed on the floor in front of us. He had terrible reaction - big note on his chart to never use again!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Sounds like you all had an active night! Glad the Z Man is getting back to normal.

That race must have been tough. You didn't mention that it was a trail race. Wow! Good job, Liz!

Enjoy a fine, restful day today. And Zener, you can start your slide whenever you wish!

Do you think Zener got a belly ache from eating so much last night?

Congratulations on your race, and I wish you all a relaxed and more comfortable day.

That's nice that you didn't have to chase Zener with his bowl this morning. Hopefully he'll slide down today. I'm sure some of that number is from the extra fuds.

Way to go on the trail race Liz. That sounds tiring just reading about it.

Morning Liz and Anne :coffee: :coffee: :coffee:

Too funny on the loosey goosey in Flagstaff. But I am glad you did OK. I can't even imagine running like that - I'll stick to my trails. Good job on it all, and enjoy the recovery today.

ah Z-man.... got an extra good appy today? wow on the cypro thing, but well... at least he ate well. :D can I laugh a little? I can so see Zener begging for food, rather loudly... ;-)

    Have a great day today/ :D

Oh Zener, I hope your appy is back to normal. I've never used that, but good to know it really work. Enough of that pink. I heard that surfs up today, so why don't you meet me at the beach and we'll go surfing today. Don't be late.

    Have a restful day today!

Thanks to all for stopping by in Zener's condo last night after the night duty bean (Anne - that's me) had fallen asleep on the floor playing tent with the yeowly might Z and thanks also to those who came by this morning too. :YMHUG:

@Michelle & Mannie - yes, poor Mr Z. I felt really bad about giving him the appy stimulant mix up and 4x what we normally would give. You are so right to look at the "half full" side, there was NO chasing around for fuds. Well, there was a little but the reverse chasing - Z was chasing us around. And yes, you can laugh a little, he was begging, and I mean begging, and very loud! That's how we knew something was off.

@carla - thank goodness we figured it out last night, when I had just cut up the new meds, cypro mixed in with ondansetron. We may have not figured it out until several days later when he got one of the cypro mixed in with the ondansetron and not had it so fresh on my mind! We tossed all the cut up meds and started over, so all should be sorted for now!

@Emily & Zoey - it was quite a long meowy night, but he finally settled down around +6. He ate quite a bit more than usual, even with us trying out best to give bits at a time, so his BG numbers are going to wacko for a few cycles - with all the fuds and the reducie. Sheez. Liz recovered enough from her race to go on a 15mile bike ride this morning!

@Sienne - thank you for the hints on prevention! Sharpie out and all bottles appropriately labeled. I had just re-ordered some ondansetron and I combined the old ones in the new bottle, but had forgotten to label the new bottle. The cypro was in a bottle much like the one we keep on our counter for the daily doses of ondansetron and I made the mistake of cutting things up and not double checking the label. I felt a little bit like the surgeon who operates on the wrong knee! I'm hoping Zener doesn't sue me for malpractice!

@Ella & Rusty - it appears that it is starting to wear off after a hearty breffis. Numbers are BLECH so paws crossed all gets sorted out in a few more cycles. Liz did great in the trail race. She is far too modest! Paws crossed Z reads his condo today and follows your sliding instructions.

@Ann & Maggie - it is sort of funny today, but I felt terrible last night! Yard patrol was very successful, very healthy poo excavated!

@Cleo & Jane - we used Mirtz with Zener over a year ago post a problematic dental that caused his GI system motility to cease. His reaction last night to the extra cypro was mild compared to the mirtz. He was practically silent and zen compared to the Mirtz. We did the same as you, note to never use Mirtz again!

@Dyana - he could be having a little tummy cramping this morning, that is a frequent pattern. Still, he is more enthusiastic about his fuds than usual in the AM cycle. Paws crossed we are all more relaxed and comfortable today!

Looks like BLECH numbers but hard to tell how much is the reducie bounce and the extra fuds. Where are those patience pants?

I am off to lead my first tour of the summer at our local Arb. It is scheduled to begin at 1pm, and in keeping with Flagstaff, it will be a little loosey goosey! Lots of people join in about 10 minutes after I start (and it's not the locals).

Yo, Z! No more pinks, they are SO unsightly even on your handsomely dark fur. Congrats on your 10k yesterday on the trails - I am trying my first trail 10k in a couple weeks, so I'm looking forward to it but also a little nervous! I think ours is pretty darned near a 6-mile loop but they may be nudging the start and finish to get it closer. Who knows, not like you could compare it to a road time! And then a 15 mile bike ride on top of it? Go girl!

Boring pinks today - but at least you get to go out and enjoy the Sunday.

Sorry about the pill mix-up, but now you have an idea what breakfast time is like around here every day!

Liz - good job on the trail run, those can be tricky. If you are up for a little fun in early July, check out the 48 km Knee Knackering Race we have here. Seriously though, I've seen people at the finish and it's not pretty.

Oh good lord. The first 10k of that race is scary! Some of the trail pics look wonderful, but I think I'm a big NO on that race!   Liz, however, could probably kick some butt on it :D

I'm glad to hear all is settling down after last nights med mix up. It is so hard, juggling so many different things. Back when Mario was still with us, I used to literally speak what I was doing outloud to myself, because it helped reinforce what I was doing with all the different meds VS all the different kitties.

I hope you guys are able to get some R&R in this evening!

BLECH and UGH for the 3rd cycle since the reduction, but there was the super extraordinary happy appy last night after the cypro mix-up, so we are donning our patience pants and waiting out the full 6 cycles before fattening the dose, if necessary. It has been a nice pokey break for Zener and beans.

@Doreen and PeePee - appy is still a little over the top happy for our guy, but we kind of like to see it now that he isn't so desperate! The cypro definitely works for him but normally we would give about 0.25mg (1/16 of a tablet) and not 1mg like last night. Just a tiny tad gets him eating when his appy is missing but doesn't cause any yeowly meowy antsiey pantsy. I have learned a valuable lesson on labeling all bottles!
Hey P - how's da beach? I would love to dig me some holes in that sand. No surfing today, I's can't stay away from my fuds bowl that long. Maybe tonight or tomorrow, ok? - Zener

@Lisa & Leo - we are with you on the no more pinks! Paws crossed we see the end of this string soon, and if not, more juice! Liz is the trail runner, I'm more of the hiker/walker - my knee cartilage is but a distant memory. Liz has signed up for a summer series they do in Flagstaff, high altitude and trails oh my! Nothing quite like the knee knacker that Wendy linked to though. Good luck on yours! :thumbup

@Ann & Maggie - Dectective Poo spotted the action without the binoculars even! All healthy on the poo end at the moment.

@Wendy & Neko - we cannot imagine what breffis must be like at your house! I'll tell Liz to check out your link in our condo. Now, she'll probably want to come run that one!

@Amy & TrixieCat - maybe I'll start speaking to myself as I do all Zener's meds! If I answer myself, does that mean I need some meds too? ;-)

The cypro seems to be wearing off gradually and appy seemed almost back to his normal evening happy appy. He had a slow slide down after the peak pink this morning, so paws crossed we see some better numbers soon. Wishing all a calm and drama free Sunday evening in LL.

Hi Anne! I'm so glad Zener has a good appetite--nice when they're into their food, huh? I used cypro on Gobs in the past and it always helped; sometimes a little and sometimes just right...

hmmm...Flagstaff sounds like my kind of place...loosey goosey and all!!! Mr. Zener, YOU on the other hand are not supposed to be so loosey goosey with your numbers. You are supposed to be in the blues and greens (maybe in the yellows if you're feeling mellow!) :D Hope you all had a great Sunday recouping from your 10k and leading tours and everything else you all are up to!

And it looks like Zener is on a little slide. Night duty bean signing off to dreamland. Ni ni LL. I-)
