For anyone that is interested in a raised dish for their cat... Classy Cat makes a great stoneware bowl 4 inches high. Kitten is loving it and eating more food in the process. Plus good for GI issues, arthritic kitties or just in general. I bought mine from Amazon for $38.00 but my shipping was free. I am posting a link to the maker's website.http://www.classycatdishes.com/shop/pet ... nned-food/

What a great find! Maybe I can get rid of the shoebox that my sugarcat is currently using to raise his cat bowl.

Where are these dishes made? If not China, I will order some.

The ones I have are made in Poland, but distributed by Classy Cat here in St. Louis. I don't think anything on their site that specifically mentions if theses are made in Canada (where the owner is) or someplace else.

I don't have a solid color like the ones on their site. I bought mine thru Classy Cat on Amazon and they have a "polish pottery" design. (the shape is the same) It was more expensive than these, but they are really pretty!

They are supposed to be lead free. A member on a yahoo group mentioned that ceremac cat dishes have toxins in the glaze and I think she mentioned China made. I bought Kitten adorable new ceremaic dishes and bowls from Walmart vs. her stainless steel bowls. A week later she had a cut on her chin from scratching. She cannot have plastic either or gets chin acne. Classy Cut is dishwasher and microwave safe. I just paid $38.00 on Amazon but I have free shipping. It is $32 plus shipping on the manufacturer's website. U can call and ask where they are made. The website has a phone number. And these bowls are recommended on Tanya's feline CRF website which is a very respected website. I am ordering another one because it is much easier to work with than I thought.
The one I bought from Amazon ( pink and white) is the same pattern on the Classy Cat website.

Hi.. The one I ordered last week from Amazon was "pink" but has white swirls in it. This is same design on the seller's site.

Thanks for the info. Problem is lead from China, even coffee cups, that if you chip a cup and use it, the glaze is no longer protecting you. Guess I need to hit Amazon :D

Lol. Shoebox good idea.. The maker said she used upside down terra plant pots wit a bowl on top. This inspired her design. That was an ingenious idea to use the pot.

My sister works at a "paint your own" pottery place. She said that you could fire a bowl onto an overturned flower pot (like the creator of the bowls used) and they should stick together.

Lynn, I got the dishes, wet food and water ones, and I love them. I only bought for my diabetics, cannot afford to buy for all the others, but they are fantastic. Also, insert says "lead free, microwaveable, dishwasher safe" and they are heavy. Threw out the UPS boxes I used and dish towels no longer needed as table cloths. Definitely worth the price and extremely well packaged for shipping. Thank you so much for posting about them.

They are cute and love the raised bowl idea. So much neater than piling boxes.

My only problem is that Maui loves getting fed in bed and lays down to eat! So, not sure how they will work in bed or for a lazy cat!

If your cat has an e-collar on, you can flip it over and fill the smaller end with water, and the cat should be able to drink water easier as the collar fits over the smaller end.
