I bought some Weruva cat food the other day in my search to find a cat food both low in phosphorous and carbs. My cat seems to love every kind I bought (tried a can of each so far) but I want to make sure they actually are low phos/carbs. I checked the food list someone posted for me on here before buying them but since then I have seen a few posts claiming they aren't actually low carb or low phos. Anyone have luck feeding these foods?

    Weruva Mideast Feast
Weruva Paw lickin chicken (food list says its low carb but can says "with gravy")
Weruva Best Feline Friends Salmon Soulmates
Weruva Best Feline Friends Tuna and Chicken Chuckles

Another one I bought was Merrick Turducken... haven't tried that one yet.

This was the list I was going by .. viewtopic.php?f=28&t=94685

When I transitioned to raw I supplemented with Weruva. My cats loved it at first (not the Terducken because they only like poultry) then they got tired of it. I used to freeze the paw lickin chicken into food sicles but they wouldn't touch it no matter how hungry they got. I loved that Weruva offered a variety of tastes... oh well. I had to find other foods instead and have settled on Tiki Cat.

BFF I don't think has any flavors with no fish, all are tuna based. Some of the Weruva are higher carb, not extremely so. Bear likes the Cats in the kitchen, also made by Weruva. Be aware that they are high water content and likely need to feed more of it.

Thanks everyone! The only kind I have found not containing fish is the Weruva Paw Lickin Chicken. He seems to like it so far and I haven't noticed it raising his BG. Hopefully he keeps eating it! I'm hoping to find somewhere to buy it in bulk for a deal since it's so expensive.

Mine liked the Paw Lickin' Chicken as well but got tired of it. You might want to switch it out (for variety) with Tiki Cat chicken.

Most of the Weruva tins and the Cats in the Kitchen tins are under 10% carbs, as well as the BFF tins. It's the Cats in the Kitchen and BFF POUCHES that get up there in carbs. I'm not sure if ALL of them are listed on Dr Lisa's list b/c it needs to be updated (I know the new BFF POUCHES are not) but Weruva and BFF have the carb % listed on their website for each of their flavors. They are one of the very few pet food companies that make a full disclosure of that info. I keep the Cats in the Kitchen pouches handy (Pumpkin Jack Splash and the red pouch) on hand in Penny's hypo kit in case I need higher carb food to give her. The pouches range from 10.5% carbs to 18% carbs.
