    Last Night:
    474 PMPS
    134 +9.5

I'm out in the garage on my Step Mom's old dial up computer, because I think I can update J.D.'s spreadsheet from here. On the lap top, I haven't figured out how to enter the numbers in the boxes, yet. There's no mouse and the keyboard is different so I kind of swear under my breath a lot and my Step Mom's keeps looking at me funny when I do that using her lap top.

Yesterday, it was raining (sprinkling) in San Francisco which caused delays to the flight and so we could not take off from Newark right away. Although I thought we might take off early as there were a lot of people with 3 seats to themselves, so not many people and passengers were loaded quickly. Because of the weather delays in SFO, we had to sit on the tarmac at Newark for an hour before we could take off. The plane felt squirrely, twisting this way and that we were on the lower half of a hula dancer or like it was high flexible. Once we were in the air, it straightened out like a champ and there was very little movement or turbulance.

Of course, J.D. didn't want to lay in his carrier, and one time he only had his pinky claw inside and the rest of him was out.
He had to be inside and zipped up for take offs and landings though. He got a lot of treats while flying, but except for a little bit of LC, that's all he had to eat for 12 hours. Eventually, a stewardess came over and said are you the one with the cat? and she said she wanted to see J.D. who was hanging out in front of my feet. I had to keep his leash taught, as he was in the wandering mood  .
So, I picked up J.D. and she petted him and didn't say a thing about him being loose and had another stewardess come by to pet him too. She did mention that once they had a cat get loose out of it's carrier and they couldn't find it and everyone was looking for a little black cat and they finally found him in First Class.
The stewardess and I talked for a long time. Mostly about cats, so that was nice. She has a 16 year old male that is 27? (I think that's what she said) pounds :-| J.D. did pee on the airplane carpet in front of his carrier, I hope it doesn't stink too much, because the workers were all so nice about how J.D. just stayed around my feet. I almost think I could have put him on the seat next to me, which I paid for. I paid for two seats, one for him and one for me, but I thought he was supposed to be under the seat in front of his seat.

My Step Mom said on the way home from the airport that everyone was harvesting and there was a lot of dust around, and they had not had rain in a long time, so hopefully the rain would wash away some of the dust.

As I mentioned yesterday, we went out to dinner and I was pretty tired when we got home because of being up since 3:00am EST that day and now being 3 hours difference with the PST. But the dinner didn't sit well with me (just a salad with chicken) and I was sick for a couple hours.
Then J.D. kept meowling/howling because he felt lost and I would wake to call him and he would stop, until he did it again. I did not give him his Denamarin yesterday morning, so hopefully this will lesson. He seems to be remembering where he is bit by bit.
I must have gotten some sleep, but woke at 4:00am in darkness, I couldn't get the lights to turn on. I was frantically trying the bathroom lights when I realized all power was out. My dad must have heard me scrambling and handed me a flashlight.
I tested J.D.'s 134 at +9.5 last night via flashlight. My dad said maybe the light rain made the dust create a connection and the transformers blew. I don't know if he's right.

By AMPS the lights were back on. I did not want to have to measure J.D.'s little dose of insulin via a bulky flashlight.
I have enough problems getting good lighting here to measure his dose as it is.

At +4.25 my Dad decided he wanted to go to breakfast, and so I gave J.D. some of the only 2 cans of HC FF I brought with me, and he did okay I guess going up to 180 by the time we returned home. I had my Dad stop at a grocery store after breakfast so I could buy some more HC FF and some of those FF Gravy Lovers too.

Right now it is pouring outside. I am out in a tin garage and it sounds loud and comforting. Cozy. :)

J.D. has had some walks outside and has been eating, although not full meals yet. I don't want to give him any cypro yet and I am giving him a chance to get used to the place and the situation first. I gave him 1/8 teaspoon of Miralax last night and 1/8 tsp this morning, and no poos yet. Send poos vines, if you have any to spare. :)

I can't get on the computers much and I am only pretty sure I have my spreadsheet correct with the times.

Hoping everyone is having a good Wednesday. Sorry, this was so long.........

No apologies needed for the length. It's a great way to appreciate how you and J.D. are doing. I hope the rain lets up and you can be outdoors in nicer weather than the East Coast and enjoy your vacation.

Hi Dyana! Glad everyone is safe and you had some company for the flight. It's nice that the stewardesses were so easy going about JD so he got to hang out closer to you :D Yikes on the power going out and scrambling for light. I'm glad it was back on for dose time, that would have been a bit stressful. Now hopefully you can relax and have a good visit. Twice just had his poo today so I have lots of extra vines coming JD's way :D :D
    Have a good night Dyana

J.D. is so amazing at his ability to travel.... especially flying.
Mine would never do that. it would be nothing but a freak out.

Hope you have a good visit.

    Hi Dyana,
I'm glad that you survived the flight and that J.D. was a good traveler. Now that you're getting settled in you can begin to relax and enjoy your visit with your folks. Happy Thanksgiving!

p.s. Have you considered buying a small hiking/camping headlamp? They are fantastically useful and leave your hands free. Any outdoors store would have them.

i read every word of your post - glad to hear you're both doing ok. nice flight attendants - i'm so glad! i can only imagine every searching for a little black cat that ended up in first class! nice job kitty!! ;-)

we got one of those hiking lights online at REI - they're fantastic. look like a dweeb with a flashlight on your forehead, but hey, the things we gotta do to be able to see. i got one to shoot punkin cuz i was having so much trouble seeing the skin with his long hair, but it was great for measuring doses too.

sending many poo thoughts to JD. go JD go!

can you say what town you're in? i'm originally from fresno, armpit of california! ;-)

I'm glad to hear that you had a nice flight out to CA! JD must have been very happy that there wasn't many folks on board and that he didn't have to stay in his carrier throughout the whole flight, but he has a weird way of showing it by peeing on the floor!!! The stewardesses sound like they were very nice and friendly. That's a plus! Had to lol loudly after I read about the little black kitty's escapades! Guess he thought he should be treated like the Prince he was!!

Glad JD is getting acclimated to your dad's house. Hopefully he will remember all his smells and the other smells and fit right on it. Hope you enjoy your vacation. Spending time with family is nice....however spending time with friends is much nicer!!!

Wow on what a great traveler J.D. is :thumbup Hoot would have cried the whole flight   Which I'm sure NO ONE would appreciate!
Glad you are beginning to settle in. DH and my families are both on the west coast and it is soooooo hard to get used to the time difference.
We're usually laying in bed wide awake at 4:00 am waiting for the paper to be delivered
J.D.s numbers are really good considering what he's been thru.
Now it's time to relax and enjoy :D
    Have a great time Dyana!
