    Hi all,

I've been giving my cat the generic Metamucil, unflavored, for a while now to help with diarrhea. I was sure that I read the ingredients and didn't see sugar. Anyway, Bubby was dx FD yesterday. Today I noticed that the stuff has sugar in it. ohmygod_smile I missed it  Any recommendations for a good brand without sugar?

    Thanks in advance,
    Kathie

Check Amazon via our shopping link above.

Or check a local health food store.

I did check Amazon first, they don't list all ingredients. Tried searching FDMB as well before posting for advice. I will go to my local store, just thought someone here might have a recommendation.

I use psyllium husk fiber that comes in a capsule and I snip the end off the capsule and sprinkle it on the food.

Equate is Walmart's brand and the ingredients are: psyllium husk, gelatin, sodium lauryl sulfate, polysorbate 80, titanium dioxide, shellac, caramel color, blue 1.

My cat was still getting constipated so I added Equate brand ClearLAX (store brand of MiraLax, polyethylene glycol 3350 powder), as well. Seems to be working....

Konsyl is 100% psyllium husk with no sweeteners and no additives. CVS and my local supermarket both carry it and Amazon has it as well.

Thanks so much Deborah, Margaret and Karen, I appreciate your help! I knew someone here would know :D I looked at our health food store yesterday, they didn't have the Now brand psyllium, and the other brand had sugar. I looked at a couple other pharmacies as well, no luck. I have a couple more places to try today.

Thanks again! Have a great day,
    Kathie

I have using Yerba Prima psyllium husk powder for years. It's available at amazon, vitamin shoppe, almost all online vitamin sites. I have seen it in the drugstore and grocery store too.
I make my girls' food and add it to their food when making and give a little bit extra in one meal a day. Absolutely no sugar or anything else added, just psyllium.
Highly recommend this brand, link below.
