I can't believe it. I have Tiggy who has diabetes and a rare neurological disorder. And I have Bailey who has diabetes, hyperthyroidism, EPI and kidney failure.
And then my 14 year old civvie who was the healthiest of the lot. Last week she started drooling so we took her to the vet today and he found a huge mass under her tongue at the very back and you can feel it under her chin too. Currently she is eating and behaving otherwise normally.

We are seeing a specialist on Wednesday but its very likely to be malignant and likely unoperable given where it is.:( I can't believe it. I am a total wreck. She likely only has weeks, a few months at most before she can't eat etc. I had really thought it was tooth problems.

    Wendy

PS Bailey is loosing weight again and Tiggys legs are worse.
PPS good chance within a year they will all be gone

I'm so sorry to read this. These types of cancer are usually quite aggressive and come out of nowhere. There is no way you would have known sooner. :bighug::bighug:

I am so sorry to hear of your most recent diagnosis. I totally understand what you are going through - all four of my kitties have cancer: Cinco had Ocular lymphoma (in remission), and lost both his eyes to glaucoma. Minka has renal lymphoma, COPD and is Hyperthyroid. Harvey has intestinal lymphoma and Sasha had an injection site sarcoma that resulted in the loss of her right front leg. She also has asthma. I'm telling you all this to let you know you can get through it. Our cancer diagnoses all came last year - from February through November. My kitties range in age from about 12 to 16. I know that any one or all of them could be gone before this year is over, but we're making the most of the time we have. We do our best to give them a good QOL and lots and lots of love, along with the best medical care we can afford. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't wonder if I can keep going, but then one of them gives me a kitty kiss or crawls in my lap and purrs and I know it's all worth it.

You'll need to be sad, and of course you're devastated, but try not to spend too much time dwelling on that. Concentrate on spending time with your babies and loving them. That's what will get you through this. If there's anything I can do to help you as you deal with this, please don't hesitate to let me know. You and your babies are in my prayers.

Thanks everyone. I am totally devastated. I have my hands full with the other two and thought we had our share of bad luck for now... and now this. ... Prognosis is a couple months at best from what I can tell.

I'm joining in the "Cancer Sucks" club. Especially the oral cancers that just show up w/o any warning and have such a nasty prognosis. I can send hugs, vines, light. And hope for some especially precious remaining time.

    My thoughts.

For sure - for now she is eating, purring and even playing with her favourite toy. It seems unreal somehow.

On the bright side Tiggys BG is doing weird things - lots of great numbers... I keep having to drop the dose due to missed hypos. (he throws up brown fluid when he goes too low). I know i Know I should test more but i am barely coping as it is - so when I wake up to Tiggy under 50 and a pile of brown fluid on the carpet, I reduce the dose.

I feel bad for the possible loss of my one (whenever it comes) ... and so many of you are dealing with more.
All we can do is face it one day at a time... and love them while we can.

    Adding hugs.

Looks like in spite of everything Bailey is still ahead of where he was a few months ago? So that is amazing even with everything he has going on.

I don't think you will ever regret all you have done for them, not that it makes it any easier.

It's hard to describe how sad I feel about the news, just imagining what you are going through.
This just reminds me of the time I got Lucy's prognosis.
I am thinking of you and your babies. Stay strong. Sending many hugs.

I'm so sorry to see this. I recently lost a civvie to mouth cancer - the vet thought it was an infected tooth until antibiotics failed to help and X-rays showed it had already spread. It's an awful thing to deal with but our babies are worth it.

Today I feel a little better - just ordered high carb gravy lovers fancy feast for her... she loves it and its easier to eat. If she only has a few months left she might as well enjoy her food - developing diabetes is the least of her worries.
