Hi Everyone,
We were out for most of the day paddling (the lake was quite a distance from here--way out in the boondocks, reached by dirt roads). It was a gorgeous day and Rusty enjoyed a good snooze and was on duty in the lagoon this afternoon. He is in the process of breaking the vetty bounce.
The day was beautiful--sunny and mild and, surprisingly, very few blackflies. We were the only paddlers there and paddled to a small beach at the far end of the lake, where we had lunch, and then paddled back. We saw loons, ducks, turtles, and lots of birds. Tomorrow another paddle is scheduled, but it looks like we might be getting thunderstorms, in which case the paddle will be canceled.

We hope all is well in L&LL and are off to visit a few condos.

Sounds like an idyllic day, nothing like nature to soothe one`s soul, no?
Glad to hear that Rusty is spending more time at the lagoon. That must be why Lulu is so cheerful these days :cat:
 
Was great to have our leader down at the lagoon today!! Sure hope you make it back for tonight, Rusty! I thought it might be fun to start a sychnroized swim team so maybe with enough practice, we can get all the L & LL kitties to stay right together ....I was thinking maybe we'd shoot for a nice 72! What do you think? ~China

Yes, we have pairs of loons on most of the lakes here. I love to see them. In the fall the adults "raft" on one of the bigger lakes before migrating to the Atlantic coastal waters. Last year we saw about 45 loons on that lake in October. The juveniles leave later (when they are stronger) and stay in the ocean for about 5 years before returning to the mountain lakes to mate.
 
I'm very glad to read Rustys labs were normal. Awesome news!!!!

A cold front came through here today...it was in the 90s. I'm not kidding!
 
It does sound like you live in such a beautiful place, Ella. So much to see and do. I love hearing about your paddles, but it makes my muscles ache in sympathy!

Cinco was happy to run into Rusty at the lagoon today. He so wants to do well in his duties as deputy. Tonight he's got shore patrol again.
 
Sounds like an ideal day for everyone! At least you had a good paddle today if it storms tomorrow.

Wow, awesome day for you yesterday. Sounds very idyllic, with lots of wildlife to see too. very nice! I hope the weather will cooperate so you can get out again today. Paws crossed.

And Rusty? nice to see you were at the lagoon for a bit yesterday. I shall hope for a return visit today.
