GA 07/03 Tiggy RIP July 1 2005 - July 3 2015

We had to put Tiggy to sleep this morning. We thought Cookie would go first with her oral cancer but Tiggy had been declining the last month, we could start to see his front paws being impacted and he could no longer walk.

At the vets suggestion we tried prednilosone starting last Saturday as he said it might help him walking (long shot at best) but instead it seemed to make things way worse somehow - he acted all spaced out and weird and after four days stopped eating. We stopped the steroids (which didn't seem to bother his BG much) but he continued to decline despite force feeding etc.

This morning he was just lying there staring into space and having breathing problems and his tongue out . We rushed him to the vet and his body temp was 34 and heart was racing.

Vet couldn't find anything else wrong with him but we knew with all his other issues that was time... He hasn't walked in a month and although we were giving him as much joy as possible, a lot of the time he was not happy at not being able to walk where he wanted and we were constantly questioning QOL.

He was my baby boy. That special cat that comes once in a lifetime. And he just turned 10 on July 1.

So sorry for your loss of Tiggy. 10 is way too young to be fighting so much and losing them You did so much for Tiggy and he knew how much you loved him and fought for him right up to the time it was time to go.

So sorry it was time for Tiggy to leave you. 10 is so young to lose them but he knew you loved him enough to let him go. That's the best gift we have to give.

Thanks everyone, my heart is broken. He was my heart cat and I will miss him so much.

I am giving says four vials of levemir, and his Relion prime meter for free to anyone who wants it if they pay shipping. Not sure how to keep it cold but it's in my fridge right now. Let me know.

One of my heart cats passed away over 15 years ago and I still miss him. But 5 months after he crossed the bridge I adopted my Tuxie and Maxie. They never replaced him, they just carried on the loving!

It’s been such a lovely summer, I’ve been napping in the sun.
This morning, other cats and I enjoyed a long long run.
We chased butterflies together. I climbed high into a tree.
And now I think what woke me up was that small bumble bee.

I’ve yawned and stretched, and still I feel that something has begun.
He’s standing there in robes of white, and telling me to come.
I always run to Him you know, when He comes across the bridge
To see if we’re all having fun and if we’ve checked the ridge.

He gives tummy rubs to all of us and pets and cuddles too
I’m glad to see Him every day, when He comes into view.
Each day He takes a different cat, and chats with them a while
Then off that kitty starts to run. I swear they seem to smile.

But now He’s stopped in front of me. He’s said a name I know.
He said to look out towards the ridge. The sun is setting low.
I start to walk out toward the ridge, and then what’s that I see.
IT’S YOU! IT’S YOU! It’s really you. You’ve come to be with me!

My goodness you are running and I am running too!
You stop to bend, but I can jump and now I am with you.
I feel your kisses on my head, as I did in long off days
You’re holding me and hugging me, and into your eyes I gaze.

And now He’s walking with us, as you carry me once more
We’ve crossed Rainbow Bridge together. We’re here at Heaven’s door.
And He has held it open, and told us to walk through
That from now on and forever, I can always be with you.
