Green start and I likely ruined it with a shot that might not have gone sub-q. I saw a drop of blood. Oh well, if it happens it too shall pass.

Guess he got some. I wonder what they absorb if it's not sub-q. I never got blood on the needle before.
 
I knew it wasn't a fur shot. I just didn't know what would happen if it was in the skun. I shoot on the side of his belly. Guess I'll find out soon enough.

Of course our weekend CG didn't show up for my mom. :banghead::eek:
 
I've gotten a drop of blood on the needle several times and it didn't make any difference....I think sometimes we just nick a capillary (which scares us to death when we see that little bit of red)

I got my first blood shot the other day but I'm sure that I've read that it's fine. It certainly didn't seem to bother Max any today and in fact maybe you should do it more often - that was a pretty small food spike for him!

Damn on the CG :mad:

I'm starting to wonder if what Max gets are food spikes or simply lantus wearing off. Otherwise how do I explain the lack of one on days like this morning when he ate a lot and didn't have much of a spike? Make the large ones are a combo of lantus wearing off and food.

RE: Marui values. So the venison is the highest low carb at 8% and is low phosphorus, now I feel more likely to head over to that pet store and try it out. There is no grain or carageenen or agar agar is there? Thanks for your post on the FPS list!

Regarding Max late last night, did you go to bed after the 56 at +6? This is what I don't like about Lantus, sometimes I find it's still going strong after +6 and I can't get to sleep.
 
Hi Ruth. I gave Max the kangaroo tonight and he inhaled. He finished the can of venison this morning the same way! I am really surprised as he wouldn't eat any of the other premium canned that I've tried. I got the figures from Marje. Erik hasn't gotten back to me yet.

I confess I fed Max after the 56 last night and I did get into bed. He went to sleep at tge foot of my bed and I just didn't have the heart to wake him for another test. It was actually around +6.5 and he hasn't been dropping after that lately.
