Yesterday

Hi Everyone,
The LagoonMeister is getting closer and closer to the lagoon. Maybe he'll get there tonight! We are having a beautiful Adirondack summer day: cool night (got down to 48 last night), and mild, but not hot, day today (low 70s this afternoon). Perfect! Rusty enjoyed some outdoor time in the sunshine this morning, but mostly has been sleeping. Not much appetite today. Not yet, anyway. He ate all of his nighttime food. In general his breathing has been good and he is continuing to be a champion sneezer (4 or 5 sneezes in a row with gobs of flying snot, which he then licks off his face and eats!). (Do not be alarmed: this is a chronic condition .)

I had a lot of paperwork to do today. Edward and I had a leisurely 4.5-mile walk. We are calling this a "rest" day.

Wishing you all a good evening. You can bet that I will be glued to the TV, watching the Mets-Nationals game. If the Mets win, they will be tied for first place!!

Rest days are important. I schedule them all the time!

When I first started volunteering at the sanctuary, 14 years ago or so, one of the cat buildings was specifically for snotty cats. I got that as my cleaning duty. Lots of wall, furniture, shelf, cat walk, window scrubbing. But just the dearest cats...Thanks for pushing me remember them on this lazy Sunday.

What beautiful weather you have there Ella! We are breaking heat records down here in Fl. and rainfall records too. Heck, we may have to build an ark soon if this keeps up.. But hey..cant complain too much when so many places need the rain. Eat yer fuds Rusty please! Hope your Mets win tonight too!

Guess there aren't too many carbs in snot and it's nice that he cleans up after himself but - ewwwwwww Rusty! How about you go wash it off in the lagoon instead...

Sorry I missed you yesterday....

LOL on the snot stuff. Cats will be cats, and at least Rusty is a clean one. The waters of the lagoon will help Rusty!

It was a nice day yesterday for Rusty, almost back on duty in the lagoon. I bet he gets there today.

Love your rest day. I loved the remark on the 4.5 mile walk being part of that and leisurely. I view my local walks/treks/"hikes" to be much the same: leisurely and restful.
