Rusty! Whatcha doing up there. Taking a break from your Lagoon meister job to celebrate Labor Day? Well, mister, enough off-time. Back to work!

It has been a hot, dry day and Rusty is feeling the heat (parked himself in front of the fan). His appetite has been good, even in this heat.
We worked all day on the stoops. The new can of opaque stain, which was supposed to be forest green, is quite a bit lighter. But we couldn't take it back because the store isn't open until Tuesday and we had to get the steps done, so we used it. It looks OK, so that's a relief. It doesn't quite match the trim on the house, however. I am exhausted. Painting steps is hard work! We left 3 boards in the middle of the back stoop unpainted so that we could get in and out of the house and will do them tomorrow.

So agree - we did our house last year and I don't want to have to do that again for a while. Good to hear the stain color worked out after all.
