Good day for Vyktor yesterday. Today isn't starting out so well. Happy with his AMPS but his mouth is clearly bothering him a lot and he's not eaten much breakfast. Stomatitis is evil  the vet has given the go ahead to try the Duralactin, mind you he'd never heard of it. I explained that it could be an issue for some kitties because it's very high in calcium so the plan is to swap him to a homemade diet (don't know how my veganess is going to cope with that but you do what you have to do) but not add bonemeal or eggshells for extra calcium. Pretty sure the vet has no idea about diet so if that sounds wrong to any of you shout out.

After a couple of good cycles back to back I'd dared to start hoping that 11u was the one but it looks like this one's going stale too :(

@julie & punkin (ga) - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hoping that you have an especially wonderful day, pile on the love kitties :)

Sorry, Serryn. No clue on the diet or the Duralactin. Lots of vines, though, that your homemade food and the new med helps.

As for Purrdy. Darn! Magic dose has to be out there somewhere.

Sorry about Vyktor's mouth bothering him again. I hope the Duralactin helps. I hope you find a good dose for Purrdy soon. Sending prayers.

Hi Serryn, I don't know anything about Duralactin, either, but I hope it will work for Vyktor. I think Marje uses a separate blender for the cats' food. So if you did that you wouldn't have to worry about "non-vegan contamination". Another suggestion is to get a crock pot and use that to make Vyktor's food in. Let the pot do everything (but you'd still have to clean it!).
I was about to reply to your earlier condo (with all those good numbers for Vyktor and Purrdy). The good numbers will return. I know it!
    Healing vines for Vyktor's mouth.

    Hugs and scritches,

aw, thank you Serryn! It's been a lovely day with the family.

Amazing what you do when you have to do it. My 23 year old daughter has been vegetarian since she was 8, but when she developed stomach woes she ended up having to eat meat. It's been a couple of years now, and she still struggles with it, but she does it. I know you'll be able to do what Vyktor needs because you love him so much.

I didn't change Neko's diet any when I started her on Duralactin. Her blood calcium numbers are in the normal range. Sending healing vines for Vyktor's mouth.

    Purrdy - prove us wrong.

Hope the Duralactin helps Vyktor's mouth! Good luck with the raw diet, I'm not even vegan and barely eat meat because I hate handling raw meat  You're a dedicated mama bean!

Glad to see Vyktor and Purrdy are still plugging along! Have I missed a high dose condition with Purrdy or have you not done tests? How's Meg??
