Last Time at Tricia's House of Chaos

We are turning into occasional posters here. It's not by design - just happened. My days are so full, with all the care the kitties take, and the everyday things that have to get done. There's just no time to sit at the computer and compose. When I do post, it is always late at night, after everyone is fed, medicated and hydrated. I'm trying to pop in briefly when I can during the day, to see what's going on with everyone. I am sorry I can't post on every condo, but I am thinking of everyone and praying for all the kitties and beans here.

Speaking of praying, my knees are sore from the prayers I have sent the past 24 hours. First Isabela and her dear Fred, which is such a sad story. :( And now, our very special Gracie needs all our thoughts and prayers. Marje has been such a wonderful mentor to so many of us, and how we love our Lupita Fridays! I can't say enough how much I hope and pray Gracie pulls through this. Mega vines, prayers and light are beaming down to Tucson tonight. Hang in there, LBG! We all love you!

As for my crowd, we are holding steady. Cinco and Harvey seem to have some sort of synchronized BG thing going on lately. DH and I just look at each other and shake our heads. Each time I tell Cinco I'm going to increase his dose, he throws me some green, like you would throw a dog a bone. Well, Mister, you are going to have to do better than the 80s and 90s to appease me. Tuesday morning is the cutoff. If I don't see a little more lagoon action tomorrow, you are going up!

I was so sure that removing Cinco's Cover Me and collar made the difference in his lb experience. We went several days without an incident. Then he began peeing on the pads. Okay, I can live with that. But today he peed in the middle of the family room floor. I caught him in the act, and like an idiot I picked him up and moved him to a pee pad!! Leaving a trail of pee across the room.:facepalm::facepalm: What was I thinking???? At least his poo this evening was in the box. I still am just wracking my brains, trying to figure out what his issue is.
Harvey continues to be a challenge. We actually went two days without DH having to wake me to catch him, but yesterday and today he was a real knothead. I wish he would realized that he will get caught eventually, so there's no real point in running. Testing is much less stressful for both of us. He does try to avoid it, but not as hard, I make sure to give him lots of praise and loving each time. He's still a champ at shaking his head after the poke. The blood spatter in this house could earn us both life sentences!

Minka is still hanging in there. She is eating some on her own, but I supplement almost every day with some from a syringe. She is totally in love with shredded cheddar cheese. She's always liked to have a bite or two when we are using it, but now she is just obsessed with it. If she won't eat anything else, she'll almost always eat cheese. I'm giving her a supplement, Missing Link, to get all the nutrients she needs into her, so I'm letting her gorge herself on the cheese. Calories are calories. She doesn't seem to have the digestive upset that some kittie get from dairy, but I am giving her some squash baby food, just in case.

The other thing I can get her to eat about 75% of the time is Friskies Special Diet Ocean Whitefish! When I was on my scavenger hunt for Friskies SD T&G, I kept seeing multiple cans of the whitefish at each CVS. I decided to buy a can and see if the kitties would eat it. it's a little higher in Phos than most urinary support foods are, but she's eating it, so I'm happy. But now I'm hitting all the CVS stores in our area, looking for more Friskies Special Diet Ocean Whitefish, It's always something.

Sasha is now up to three drops of the Pilocarpine orally twice a day. One of the side effects listed is hypersalivation, and boy, does she have that!! I can tell where she's been by the puddles in the carpet.
She's eating well, for the most part. Hanging out by the heating vent is her favorite use of time. Oh, to be a cat!

Sending healing vines to all in need and hugs to all their beans, especially Megan and Oren, Suki and Crystal, Melanie and Chris Farley, Carla & her civvie Baby, Wendy & Neko & civvie Theo, and Marje & Gracie. :bighug:Prayers continue for Amy's DF, Lyresa's DF and DH, Marje's DM, Chris' DM, Molly's DM, and Elise's DM.

Don't worry about posting on condos or posting an update every day. You have a lot going on and you need to take care of your family (furbabies included) first. Post when you have time. I'm keeping you in my prayers.

Have you tried putting the lb in the middle of the floor to see if Cinco will use it or will that confuse him since he's blind? I hope Harvey realizes running won't do any good, that he's got to be tested any way.

I'm glad Minka is eating some on her own. I hope the drops are helping Sasha.

Like Carla said - don't worry about posting often, it is nice to have an update occasionally to know how the family is doing.

Sending appy vines to the girls and LB vines to Cinco and quit-fighting-it-because-its-gonna-happen-eventually vines to Harvey

I know how crazy busy you are, but it is nice to see an update! It sounds like everyone is holding their own, which is great. Hopefully you can figure out the pee-mystery with Cinco...why can't they talk???? Hopefully the dosecrease threat will work; hopefully Harvey will realize there is no point in running (can't blame a cat for trying, though, can ya?). Continued appy vines for the girls!!

I've definitely made the pick the cat (or baby!) up while they're having an accident mistake! You're not alone there, haha. As for Harvey, he probably shakes so there is evidence of the injustice he's facing! If he can't escape it, he might as well bring his tormentors down ;)

I think everyone here understands that you have your hands full and a prompt condo isn't a priority most days--heck, you have more updates in a day than I had for 2 months!! Vines and coffee heading your way, both crucial elements for kitty care :coffee::bighug:

I'm guessing that 886 for Cinco was an 86. If he keeps hitting green with all you have going on I'd be hesitant to increase unless it's just a few drops. How is that from someone that doesn't give dosing advice?

So weird about the pee issue although Tiffany started to do that too. Never figured out why.

I'll be on the lookout for the Ocean Whitefish if my car ever becomes mine full time!

    Prayers and vines!

    hey,
i still have special diet salmon pate... something like 17 cans I think. all the kits here aren't impressed by seafood and i'm gonna keep it that way.

have you used the cat attract litter?
I bought it for koala and it did work.... and all the kitties would come use that box.
it did seem to have some smell that got their attention.

i have one of those uv flashlights and was looking at my nightstand area ....
i have tiny little droplets every where of Shadow's blood, and weirdly it comforted me.
think of it as spreading the love.......

Have been thinking of you. Glad to hear everything's going generally ok, except for the Cinco pee issues. Messy as it can be I think grabbing them and moving them to the appropriate place mid pee is the way to go, how else do you tell them?

Harvey be nice to your mombean and let daddybean get that morning t/f/s out of the way by himself. Be a little runaway for the other tests if you like but let mom have a little sleep ok.

Always thinking about you. Looks like things are pretty good there. Cinco....buddy, quit peeing on the floor! Harvey, quit being a knucklehead at test time (at least hw will let daddybean try, Snick won't let anyone but me deal with her diabetes). Even if Snick is hiding, she will let me gently nudge her out and test. If dh tries this, she will bite and hiss and yell.

I remember one time I went to test Snick at 2am, her ear was super warm and I had forgotten a small piece of tissue. Needless to say, the chair looked like a crime scene, lol!

I keep looking for this Special Diet Friskies and I can never find it....grrr

Snick used to be a drooler. It's subsided a bit.

I guess I'm becoming even more occasional! Good to hear that things are going relatively smoothly, but oh dear, on the pee. I hope you figure it out soon. I'll be up there one of theses days, but probably not till after the new year. Happy Belated Birthday! [IMG]
