Hi. I'm glad all is well. I've often thought about trying lev. I've seen a few dramatic results here. Best of luck!

Thanks for stopping in Carla, Elise, and Rhiannon! Blue was short lived, but that could be just a longer cycle and late nadir on Lev and she'll come down later. Time will tell! Retest was a 381, so we'll cover our eyes and stick with the 339.

Elise: I have seen in my "Lantus to Lev" research you've been considering it for a while. If it helps, I decided for two reasons: the fact that I could never get any type of "predictable" insulin cycle with Lantus (it was so stressful and disheartening never knowing if she'd be 400 or 40 when I checked) and the results of the fructosamine. I may have given it a full year if that showed decent regulation, just to see if she could come into a "normal" pattern eventually, but with that being so high even her vet who was very tentative about Levemir recommended the change. I know your issues with Max are much different, but that's what forced my hand with Noodle.

That second test just shows her onset is later. But blue out of the gate is sweet.

BTW, you don't need to start a new spreadsheet. You could just put a line under the last Lantus dose and put the words start Levemir, or something like that in there. That would actually make it easier for those of us who stalk the spreadsheets to see the Lantus history. ;) Then just start a new tab with the new year.

Fixed! For some reason I thought I should start a new sheet for the new insulin. I've gone back to the 2015 page.

Noodle is adorable and so is her name! I hope Levemir helps smooth things out for you both and those blues become a regular trend!
