    AMPS 468. How disappointing.

He also has a bad rash on the scruff of his neck and is scratching the fur off. We have an appointment on Tuesday but I'm going to call Monday to get him in earlier. I put some Hydrocortizone ointment on it - hope it helps. I've been shooting on the opposite side of the irritation.

i'm not sure whats going on with muffin right now. last nights cycle seems odd for him and more inline with decembers numbers. Hopefully its just something temporary or else he may be needing an increase coming up. Just keep going, if the dose ends up low then that fits in will with SLGS and will be a good starting point and if he goes back to reacting alot to the 2.5U then thats a good thing too. Good luck, you've done great so far. hopefully he will start surfing blues and greens again soon.

It looks like the last 4 cycles he hardly reacted to the dose at all, maybe someone with more experience can chime in if they think this is a bounce still or his low numbers prior to the last 4 cycles were the odd ones.

I'm not liking the syringes - it's very difficult to part his fur. Maybe it's me :(:(:(

This looks like a bounce from the blue numbers. I think you just have to wait it out. Bouncing is normal and you also have to consider the fact that you just recently changed to shooting every 12 hours. Things have to settle in.
The irritation on his neck might be an allergy? Have you changed his food? It seems unlikely that it could be from the syringes. In any event, it is a good idea to have the vet look at it.
Rusty has long hair, too, and I learned early on that the best way to get a look at the skin prior to shooting is to grab some of the hair on his scruff with your thumb and index finger and pull it/roll it up. You will easily see skin and be able to shoot.

You are doing very well. I hope that the vet will be able to determine the cause of the rash.

    Have a good weekend,

    Ella & Rusty

maybe you could trim his fur in the area you are giving shots? It may not look too majestic but it would make it easier to give shots. I consiered giving my cat a trim in a few spots before i really got used to it.

Also use a comb to hold fur out of the way when you shoot.

I know it's disappointing to see those high numbers. I've dropped my shoulders and sighed many a time after testing. But it's all part of this difficult dance. Just keep plugging along and remember you and Muffin are both doing the best you can do right now.

Back near the beginning of Polly's introduction to FD, I did trim fur in her shot spots. Made it easier for me to see the needle enter the skin. For a while she looked like one of those toddlers who grabs mom scissors and experiments with bangs!

The rash is in the scruff of the neck area on the left side. He has scratched it almost raw and most of the hair is gone. Today it looks to have spread a little bit. I have been giving him his shots in the shoulder area and usually on his right side. As was mentioned in a reply, I'm thinking it might be food related.

can you/ or do you have anyone that can shave the hair on the neck?? it may be helpful for the rash and easier to inject-
do they have mobile groomers where you are? or can you clip a little ??
