I woke up at +10 (cat's gotten me used to getting up early) and I couldn't find Neko in her usual spots. I finally found her under the bed in the guest room. She hadn't made it quite to the box to pee. And I found vomit on her memory foam bed. So much for what I syringe fed last night.

She ate a little yogurt this morning with her Azodyl in it. But that was it, no baby food, no canned food. Calling the vet's office shortly. Neko's vet doesn't get in until noon. If I can't get an early appointment there I may try at the acupuncture vet - who is also a regular vet. I shot a even more reduced dose.

Civie refused his elk but ate half the offered canned food and scarfed her baby food. Sigh! It must be Monday.

Leaving for the acupuncture vet in 1/2 hour. Her regular vet was booked all day. They offered me a locum vet but I want someone who knows my girl.

The sound of the autofeeder got her off the bed. She's interested in food, just not eating. At least Theo is back in the saddle again.

 

We will be watching for the vetty update.

Thanks for all the vines and good wishes. We are back from the vet. I picked up a small can of Almo Tuna and when we got home she ate maybe a tsp on her own, though slowly.

Neko is very gassy. Her gums are also a bit pale. We are getting b/w and urinalysis done. She'll be due for blood work in less than 4 weeks as part of her post SRT checkup, so I decided to just do it early and hopefully that'll eliminate a vet visit. She also got fluids and an injection of Zantac. This vet has had good results with Zantac vs. Cerenia, so we'll see. I picked up some Recovery, as I'll probably need to syringe feed.

I really like this vet and would stick with her as the full time vet, except they are only open 5 days a week, and Neko's regular vet clinic is open 7 days. An example of what I like, when they were done with the cysto (yes, I was there for everything), Neko twisted her body trying to get up. Vetty saw her back spasm and immediately did a little massage that got her sorted out.

 

OK Neko, you have been checked over. Now it is time to eat!! Sending tummy vines to encourage the behavior.

I made a mistake this morning and gave the shot at her shoulder. Three hours later she got fluids there, which I should have anticipated. I guess I've answered the question of whether squids impacts her blood sugar. Might be an interesting day. I'll find out whether I lowered her dose enough.

I did give Neko a little bit of ProGut Plus, which is supposed to help her gut feel better. She also ate another spoonful of food, this time a mix of Wellness turkey and the tuna. She also got off her bed near the water bowl where she's been camping, and did a good scratch of her scratch mat. And there was a bit of grooming. Baby steps.

Poor Neko. It's so awful when your tummy is upset. If she's gassy, that would definitely account for it - what a miserable feeling. I hope all the b/w comes back clear.

We've had more progress on the fuds front. She tucked into a good portion for her usual +9 snack and she's finally showing interest in test treats again. Now I'm trying to decide two things, what dinner will be and what her shot will be. Since I don't have any raw thawed it'll be one of the back up low phos canned fuds. I'll go back up in dose, the question is how much. Just wish this wasn't happening during a period of acro tumor die off, which adds a wild card to the mix.

Wendy, I'm so sorry to hear about Neko's bout with whatever it was and hope that she will be much better tomorrow.

She ate over half of her dinner. Since canned takes up more volume that raw, her tummy may not be used to so much at once. She also followed me to the test spot for the first time in a while, and just after she did a nice deposit in the LB! Much better than yesterday morning's production. It was so nice to have her hang around me while I prepped food. All in all, she's improving. I'll sleep better tonight!
