Yesterday

Not up to a normal condo today. Cinco's breathing was very labored this morning and his back legs very weak. It was very obvious that the time had come, so I called UCD and made arrangements with the on-call resident, Dr. Garnett, to take him in. He was alert but obviously uncomfortable. It was the hardest thing I've ever done, but I promised him I wouldn't let him suffer, and I had to keep that promise. I'll do a tribute to him when I can think straight.

Fly free, my dear sweet Cinco baby. You taught us so much in your brief time in our home and hearts.

 

I'm so sorry Tricia. My heart is broken for you. I have had such a soft spot for him ever since I read his story and I was dreading to read this post. Fly free little man

Tricia, I am so sorry for your loss. You made a very kind and loving decision to let him go... He is young again now and running around with everyone that we have loved and lost.

I just read his story for the first time and I am sitting in front of my computer, sobbing. He is a very lucky boy that he wondered into your yard many years ago. And you are a wonderful person for giving him the best years of his life.

I do believe we will see our babies again and one day your arms will be full with Cinco, Sasha, Minka, and Kisa as you nuzzle their fur again and feel the warmth of their love. I'm so very sorry it was Cinco's time. He was such a fighter and so connected to you and Mark. I know how hard it must have been and yet I knew he would make you decide the time. I do not even know where to begin......my heart is breaking for you and Mark, two of the most amazing beans I have ever known....you have put your babies first every step of the way.
