Doodles 6/12 IDK this cat wants to be 300 or 50 with very little in between :banghead: Thought we were going to see some nice blues yesterday and boy was I wrong. After the AMPS he just kept rising and was flat 300 all night instead:arghh: So thinking we need a dosecrease threat if he doesn't do something by tomorrow morning. It's my fault for being a chicken again and resorting to the 18 hr shot....live and learn. We need to do some errands today otherwise nothing exciting.

Vines and prayers to all the kitties and beans.:bighug::bighug:

Don't beat yourself up about it Karen. I think just about everyone would have done the same thing in your shoes given his earlier numbers and the scare with his RR. He stayed pretty flat last night so I'm sure he'll come down soon :bighug:

Yeah, they do have a mind of their own, don't they. As long as he's feeling good, though...the blues will come at some point, I know they will!!

Maybe explain to Doodles that although averaging works well for some things, it's not what you're really after with BG numbers. Flat. Flat is where it's at.

He sure likes his drama... I guess now that he has finally found a food he likes, he decided that he might as well switch it up a bit with his Glucose levels.

Well we would all have 20/20 vision if we had that darn crystal ball! Safety first when you decided to do the 18 hour cycles. He'll come down especially after there is a dosecrease on the table. Hang in there Karen. You are doing such a great job with Doodles. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hey Doodles, flat blue is a signature Lev move - let's see it.

Maybe he needs a small before nadir snack, to slow down any diving and get him used to spending more time in nice numbers. I hate it when the bouncing comes back. :arghh:

He gets fed at +4 & +8...which is the smallest of his 3 meals per cycle. Do we think this is a bounce? His RR is pretty high again today (35, 54...but looked like he was dreaming)

Doodles RR and even waking heart rate has been pretty rapid today but no open mouth. We're going back to adding the extra dose of Lasix for a few more days. Cardiologist can't see him until the appt. on 6/28. If it continues I'll need to take him for a chest x-ray with the regular vet but trying to avoid it.

Is he bouncing....should I hold the dose for a few more cycles or plan to increase him in the morning?

I dunno but I just don't feel like it is a bounce. And even if it is, he's got plenty of room to come down. The trick is if it s a bounce, to not increase as it clears. But he just looks really flat to me like he did 5/31 and you ended up having to increase.
