Now I have a question. Which is better for Tux?
Have him go into bright green to earn reduction.
or
Try to avoid bright green.

 

I will try to make smooth either way.

 

At this point, I'd try to avoid bright green. Give him some low carb food as soon as he hits the green, to see if you can get him to surf nice safe green. Tux hasn't spent much time in the healing green, and he needs to do that in order to get used to it, so he won't bounce as much.

 

Oh I gave him one table spoon MC right after +1.

 

It was a big drop to +1, so the MC might slow him down. Good idea.

+2 is 82. Going down quickly. Gave 1 table spoon HC snack.

 

HC snack is a good move. That's a fast drop!

 

+2.5 is 70. He is on the edge of healing green.

 

+3 is 69. Really on the edge of healing green! (I am enjoying this)

Looks like he just dropped to 49 so you will need to drop his dose back down. Sometimes they need an increase for just a cycle or two to get them kickstarted.

I have a feeling, though, that Tux might bounce again. I would test no more than 30 mins after that last treat to be sure he's coming up. 49 on an AT is much looser than I'd like to see him.

 

Ahhh...... Healing green is so narrow (68-99), I was too careful not him go back on blue too quickly.
Sorry Tux, you will bounce again.

Yes, he eats well. (he is now grooming himself after gravy feast.) I just didn't give him enough. I will do better next time.

+5.75 is 111, skipping healing green. I gave too much HC. I will do better next time.

111 is still a nice healthy number, you did exactly right--and even without as much HC you often get a rise like that as the cat's liver panics and tries to send them back to "normal". What a great job you're doing with Tux, enjoy your nap.

Correct just one reduction today. Bubba thought the same thing one day when he did a low dip and then another low dip. Tell Tux not to be greedy.
