Doodles 12/2 Thank you all again for all the visits, vines and prayers. Today mama bean needs to put her big girl pants on and head out from under the blanket.

5th cycle since the green and the PFS...a bounce/ FS combo really stinks I'm sitting on the dose to make sure the depot is full and get through these next few days of wacky/extra Lasix dosing. Last night's cycle was weird. He came down a bit at PM+4, jumped 70pts by +8.5 and dropped those 70pts coming into AMPS I did pick up a new bottle of R yesterday and will use it if/when I'm ready

His appy has picked up since yesterday afternoon, eating with gusto again My guess is there was/is a little fluid to make him feel yucky and the extra dose is helping already. He's been getting 1 or 2 nuggets of Stella & Chewy's here and there and gets super excited about it so that makes me happy.

Very sad to see the crossing of little Purrdy. My heart goes out to Serryn and her Mum. Extra vines and prayers for sweet Neko and Wendy. Thinking of dear Aunt Marje today...can't believe it's been a year since the crossing of her LBG.

Happy to hear that Doodles' appy has picked up! Hopefully the lasix will work it's magic this weekend!

Come on Doodles keep rocking that food bowl... i know you have reservations about all the lasix but at least you are seeing some good coming of it... hope you have a great day with your little dude and he continues to surprise and make you happy

 

Hey Karen, I just caught up with your thread from yesterday and the increase of lasix. Glad it is helping but, I understand that the increase comes with the other risk and it has to be so worrisome the balancing act that you are doing with him. As always, sending out vines to you and Doodles and hoping you see some downward movement today.

 

Yay! I am so happy Doodles appetite is back. I am happy the medicine is making him feel better.

This update just made a good day - great! Really glad to hear Doodles is doing better and the appy is strong.

Gizmo loves the freeze dry snacks. He gets them in his last turn of the auto feeder. Right now he is on the rabbit which he seems to like better than the chicken.

 

All other freeze dried treats make Doodles vomit except for the Stella & Chewy's He only gets a few as toppers though.

 

Not loving them but he'll come down..always does whether it be with an increase or on his own. Least of my worries

 

Happy to hear Doodles is feeling better. Hoping appy gets better also. Are you going to make Doodles and Moo wait til Christmas morning for their toys or give them when they arrive?

 

It will be impossible for me to wait so as soon as they arrive of course!

 

Ok, so maybe just a mousie in their stockings for Christmas morning.!!!! Which reminds me, I have to put Trippers, Tux, and PJ stockings up.

I see the R is on board now. Is Doodles doing ok? How are you?

 

We're Ok, just gave him .5u R to try to move him a bit since more Lasix is coming at +8 I think he'll eventually come back down on his own. He's pretty tired today. We did go out on the back porch for a few minutes so he could get some sun.

 

I am so happy to read of Doodles' improvement today. Despite your concerns about upping the Lasix dose, it seems to be what he needs. I know you're concerned about the affect on his kidneys, but isn't it better to have him feeling better now than to have him uncomfortable because you're afraid of a future issue? Just my own thoughts - I understand if you don't agree.

Good thing I didn't have a mouthful of anything when I read this, as I would have spit it all over my computer screen! The part that made me choke was the use of the term "was". Good one, Marje!

 

You're correct and if his heart fails we don't need to worry about the kidneys. I just couldn't do a full additional 33.75mg so went with an extra 15mg. They said that was fine. We might end up doing the 8 hour doses on and off or this might kick it for a little while again.

 

So happy to read that the higher Lasix dose is working and that his appy is starting to pick up. Sounds like you found just the right balance for him and that it wasn't necessary to do three doses of 33.75 mg after all. Good work, mama bean!

 

Guess time will tell on that one. I didn't even have enough to dose that much anyway but pick up more on Monday
