Yesterday, finally a solarium day.

I just couldn't stand seeing so much pink, so Neko got a couple of drops of R this morning. I'm hoping the blues will help her appy, which has been super picky. Pick at a bit of this, pick at a bit of that. She ended up with a couple syringes of Recovery cause of course she was picky after I'd given the R.

It's snowing today, quite the contrast to yesterday's sun. Early this morning, Neko went into the hallway and lay down, quite unusual for her. I remember the first time she saw snow. She was under the same window where she saw snow today (her feeding area and now also memory foam bed). That time she rushed into the hallway to get away from the scary stuff falling from the sky. What a memory that triggers. Anyway, today I ended up on the floor beside her and put her in my lap. She stayed there for over an hour today. I wish I'd picked someplace more comfortable for me, but that's the longest lap time I've had with her for ages. Even Theo came and joined the party - it's usually his lap. But he respected her space and started grooming her. And for once, she put up with it.

It's another day where I'll be spending a lot of time with Neko. She in her bed on the floor beside my feet. Poor girl, she's been such a fighter. But I know it's getting close.

Ah Wendy, I am so very sorry that Neko's time is getting shorter. And I am glad that you have this time to be with her and snuggle with her and that she is loving the time with you too. Sending lots of hugs!

Awwww...I am happy Neko got some solarium time yesterday and you guys had some snuggle time today.

 

Oh Wendy, my heart is breaking as I read this. It's the part of having these special creatures that makes me wonder if I can do it again. Neko will let yo know when it's time. Love on her all you can until that awful time comes. I know you will. The right words just don't exist. She is a fighter though so I hope she fools you.

Nothing else matters right now but spending quality time with your girl. I remember many uncomfortable spots I ended up in during my babies' last days. The discomfort is long forgotten, but the love we shared remains forever in my memory and heart. I hope Neko will give you some more lap time, and some of her special purrs.

I love that Theo is showing his sister he really does love her, in spite of his pesky ways.

Sending you my absolutely strongest vines! You are absolutely correct, no matter how uncomfortable you are, every single second available enjoying Neko and making sure she is comfortable, that's what is important! I spend the last year of Tiger's life sleeping on the floor so she could sleep on the couch in our basement, but I would gladly still be sleeping on the floor.

Our "snow" turned to rain...... I think all the newscasters and the schoolkids were so disappointed!

It's time. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny. I hope we can get a little time in the sunshine before Dr. Sue comes over at noon. Dr. Sue is her acupuncture vet and also a regular vet and self admitted cat lady who thinks she once had an acrokitty, but didn't know it at the time. Neko likes her, and Theo knows her too. I want this to be as little stress as possible for my beautiful girl.

We had an amazing cuddle this afternoon. Neko was in her bed and I was hugging her. Theo joined us and we had a menage a trois with him licking both of us. He knows too.

It is with great sadness that I read your update. Neko has lived a good life, only made possible by all the love, time, devotion and amazing care that you have given her. This morning I went straight to your condo for an update, I am so very saddened that Neko will be crossing later today. We all hoped for a miracle, Neko fought so long and so bravely and you have done all you can for her, now it is time to give her that ultimate gift of love. I hope you have a morning filled with sunshine and light and many cuddles. We all share your grief as you help your special girl pass peacefully to a life where she will be happy and whole again. I shall light a candle in Neko's honour tonight and look for that extra bright twinkling star in the heavens. There will be many dear friends waiting to greet her at the Bridge. Endless hugs

Sadly no. She hasn't asked for a lift up onto our bed since her lyphoma/CHF diagnosis end of May. Except for the last little while, she did still ask for lifts to the sofa for DH's lap. .

After much syringing of HC/syrup, she's up enough for a quick nap. Appy is zero tonight.

 

We're having a pajama party too, in solidarity.

Neko has known your love and dedication for the last 16 years. So I'm not at all surprised that she wants to spend a little extra time with you tonight, if for only to say thank you for the beautiful life that you have given her.

 

Put a little Karo syrup on some sushi, Chef Neko. That will liven up the PJ party!

Words just can't express the sadness. You have given so much and more to Ms. Neko, and knowing when it is time to set her free is the hardest thing to give her yet. It is a very sad day in LL. I am so glad to read it will be sunny with sunbeams to help guide her journey. Neko will be greeted by all of our sweet GA kitties. We grieve our Zener and all of the many LL angel kitties all over again with each passing of another. Liz and I were so lucky to meet her majesty in person.
