    Hi Everyone,
Another day late to the board because of a hectic schedule. I think the holidays are getting away from me this year! Anyway, Rusty is OK, but he knows it is the holidays and that his routine is not being observed. Also, he really hates the Xmas tree (after 6 years of Xmas trees!).
Today I did the final batch of cookies (to take to my nephew's), last-minute shopping, got the lights on the tree, finished my paperwork, and otherwise spent the day running around. Tomorrow I must get the Xmas cards and e-greetings done. And since tomorrow is the Winter Solstice, a group of us is going on a shortish hike in the afternoon and then to one of the houses for a bonfire and toasts and nibblies.

Now to go downstairs and comfort Rusty, who is meowing

I hope all is well on the board,

Just curious....how do you know he hates the tree?....is he giving it the "kitty finger" every time he walks past it? ;)

His schedule may be thrown off, but those are some beautiful numbers!!! Go Rusty!!!

Hope tomorrow is bright and sunny and you have a great time out with your friends! Sounds like a wonderful time....especially the "toasts and nibblies" part!!

What lovely numbers Rusty is having! I'll think of you in the snow tomorrow. You seem to have it a lot more together than we do and we aren't doing half of what you have on your list. I gave up on cards years ago.

Definitely a crazy busy time of year. The number of cards is dwindling each year here.

I bet Rusty just hates that the tree represents time taken away from his routine. I seem to remember he was never fond of them. Civie Theo is ignoring ours. Neko used to love lying on the quilted tree skirt.

Have fun in the snow tomorrow. We were trudging in melting snow today. So glad it's finally above freezing! :)

No, he just ignores it pointedly. :cat: But tonight he ran around it!
Nope. It's way over on the other side of the room.
Hi Ann, I was thinking of you the other day, as I am getting close to the end of the last box of Tess's bequest. Every time I get a "good" Terumo out of the box, I save it to help me "translate" Rusty's dose to another brand (I have 3 other brands to try; January will be the time). I can't tell you how much I and Rusty appreciate your gift. I'm sure Tess is enjoying Rusty's joy in getting more than a year's supply of these syringes. Have a great Christmas. Sorry you don't have snow!!

Tonight Rusty had a real play that lasted for over 1/2 hour!!! He tore around the living room, played with about 5 of his toys and a large paper bag, ran around the Xmas tree several times. The reason?: he made a nice contribution to his litter box. That's our boy. At dinner he auditioned Newman's Own Organic 95% Turkey and Turkey Liver--it's a hit. But the store only had 2 cans. When we get back from Xmas I'll order some of it and some of the 95% Turkey from Chewy.com. Both have pretty high calories, and Rusty certainly needs those calories. The B-12 shots have really improved his energy. Now if he could only put on some weight.

    'night, all. Thanks for visiting.

Yep, the routine has flown out the window, what with the tree, the parties disrupting his insulin schedule, the busy days. And on Friday we leave for my sister's, where we'll be staying until Boxing Day. Rusty is OK there, but I he has to stay at her house because my nephew has 3 cats and a dog. The Christmas festivities are at his house. Edward and I go back and forth so that Rusty won't feel neglected.
I think that Neko has a nice quilted tree skirt at the Bridge. Miss her!

Ella, that is hilarious with Rusty not liking the tree. I have a 4 ft tree, and Katie hates my tree, too. She kind of hunkered down getting closer to it. Then during the night really talked up a storm over it. I guess it's, as you say, we disturbed their routine, lol! Have a Merry Christmas.
