2/2 Gussie Bucket list completed

hi tonight at 6:45 my time, bucket list completed Gussie crossed on.
It was peaceful, my vet came to the house. Thank you all for the support we received.
My world is broken as is my heart.

I am so very sorry. Gussie did this, like everything else, his way and in his time. You were a wonderful, loving bean to always follow his lead. I know you will mourn him forever, but know that he will never really leave you - he is in your heart to stay and his spirit will linger in the memories of everyone here that "knew" him.

Oh, Les, this is the post I have been dreading seeing. I just can't stop crying right now. I think all of us here are broken hearted at sweet Gussie's passing. He was so very extra-special, I feel blessed to have "known" him. I know the bells are gently quivering as Gussie adds his own radiance and shimmer, and his own sweet, crystal note is added to the heavenly melody.

Gus was a remarkable kitty who found the most remarkable person to love and care for him and the love and devotion shared between the two of you was evident in every thread you posted. The last stretch of time you spent with Gus was a great tribute to your unwavering love and sharing it with your FDMB family was indeed a special privilege for us all.

Gussie is such a special cat. I am so happy he found you. He had a great life at your house with your love and care. I know he will be waiting for you at The Rainbow Bridge. You were an angel to him and now he is your angel.

Right now, he's probably surrounded by meadows with flowers and sunshine with warm gentle breezes and has lots of friends around him to run and play and chase lizards with.

How are you doing today, (((((LES)))))?

I raised a few glasses of Bushmills last night in honour of Gussie and to you for giving him a real home and loving him so much

 

Oh Les, my heart aches with you right now and to say that you were the best thing tht ever happened to Gussie is a gross understatement . All of us here that followed yours and Gussie journey grieve with you and know that I am sending lots of vines of comfort and peace during this transition. Fly high Gussie and land softly.

Having been through it myself not so long ago, I know the pain and frustration of having the rug ripped out from under you by cancer. I am so sorry it was Gussies time to leave. Osha and I are sending you our love. I will never forget the craziest summer I have ever spent, watching Gussie and Osha breaking all the rules and running down the dosing ladder and making sure us beans were completely exhausted. Gussie is a very special kitty and you are an amazing bean for loving him the way you do. I just know there are lots of lizards at the rainbow bridge for him to chase and that he is looking down to watch over you.

Be gentle with yourself. Believe me, it takes a long time to get back into the swing of life and even though Gussie was OTJ and you didn’t have to do all the testing and shots, it still takes time to adjust to not doing the heavy duty care-giving. So do special things for you, rest, try to destress, cry, do whatever brings you peace. And know we all send our love and support.
