Yesterday

Hi Everyone,
Rusty spent most of the day in the deeper waters of the lagoon. It is really impossible to measure his dose on the Monoject syringes. Even with the calipers it looks like "nothing", but obviously is "something"! He had a great zoom this morning, but slept most of the rest of the day. He declined his Wellness Core Turkey & Duck (which he usually likes) at dinner time, but consented to eat some Wellness Turkey. I wish he was food-motivated. At least he eats (with encouragement), as he picks his way through his fuds bowl over the course of a few hours.

I took the afternoon off and watched the Mets' Opening Day game against the Atlanta Braves. Mets won 6-0! In between innings I did laundry and some vacuuming. This morning Edward and I had a nice walk to the post office. The rest of the week it's supposed to rain.

Wow, Rusty, what's up Dude?? Spring fever?? Guess those monojects are still yielding something. Why are the Monojects harder to read? I have never used them.

 

They have a fatter barrel. They do have good lines, however. The problem is the "cone" above the zero line--it is hollow and insulin can get into it and make the dose larger than intended. But it is impossible to know how much gets into the cone and each syringe is different (also, with the newer Monojects you can't see the needle as well as you could with the older ones because it is metal colored (the older Monojects--from a few years ago-- had black needles). The other problem is that it is difficult to twist the plunger when you get to the top of the syringe. It sticks. Rusty's dose is very small and I need the plunger to move smoothly.

 

It's nice to see Rusty surfing the lagoon. I'm glad he came up and surfed a little higher. Congrats to the Mets on winning their first game.

Oh, I think I remember you posted a drawn pictorial of this........ so frustrating. Can you get Walmart's Relion syringes where you are? I have had very good results with them and the are very cheap,. 100 f0r $ 13.88

 

I'm going to go to Plattsburgh this week to get Relions at Walmart. It's the only brand I haven't yet tried!
