Hershey's appy has been all over the place, some days CPC and others not getting a full meal in him. I was supplementing with boiled chicken which he LOVED, until he didn't. :( He used to love Wellness Turkey, which seemed to be the best balance of carbs and phos. Sometimes I think he just holds out for the precious little bit of Friskies Special Diet T&G that I have left. I give him 1/8 can (plus the same amount of Wellness Turkey) at shot time, because I know he'll at least eat a few bites. Doug thinks I should let him eat about what he wants - 15 years old, kidney disease. But, I don't think we're there, yet. Only stage 2 and as long as his appy rebounds and BG looks good (staying blue almost all the time - don't bother checking the SS that is more than a year behind ), then I'm going to keep on keeping on.

But, EGGS - I ask because every time I fix them for myself, his nose perks up and he hangs out around the trashbag. idk that he'd even like them, but thought I might could try them in one of my desperate moments? Thoughts??

Thanks for stopping by and for offering your thoughts -

    Libby (& Hershey, too!)

    AMPS (100) .5u - fed 1/8 can Special Diet T&G + 1/16 can Wellness Turkey

Shadow ate scrambled eggs.... loved the smell and it was one of the things I could get her to eat when she wouldn't.

I often suggest it for inappetent cats.

Hi Libby. Cooked egg whites, or raw or cooked egg yolks are fine. Lots of vitamins in egg yolks.

    Scritches to Hershey.

Thank y'all, again, for stopping by. I didn't see many familiar faces when we came in today.
    - Dyana - Thank you for the vines - I hope all is well with you!
    - Red & Rover (GA) - Thank you for the website; looks like I'll spend a good deal of time reading! :coffee:
    - Hey, Rhiannon - I had read so much confusing information about too much phosphorus or this or that, but I did know I need to keep him eating. It just seems to be a constant guessing game as to what he WANTS to eat.

Hey, Wendy! Thanks for stopping by! I think I'll go scramble him an egg and see how it goes.

We went to see Jessica, Chris (new SIL), & Oreo a couple of weeks ago. Talk about role reversal! It was just like when Oreo first came to live with us!! Back then, Hershey would hiss like a crazy cat and Oreo looked bewildered, so we kept Hershey in the bedroom and let them get acquainted a little at a time. Oreo had only been gone about 6 wks, but he did NOT appreciate Hershey invading HIS house! Hissing and growling and carrying on like I had never seen from him. So, he got to stay in the bedroom and only come out for short periods of time. By the third day, Oreo could walk past Hershey without hissing or growling. Of course, we were leaving that day!

But, Hershey's numbers were great and so was his appy - unfortunately, we can't be on vacation all the time!

Scrambled egg is a HIT (so far) - He ate more than half! I should have asked if I could scramble it in anything (oil), but erred on the side of caution and just scrambled it in a bowl with nothing.

    Thanks, again!!

I don't know why I never tried scrambled eggs when my kitties wouldn't eat. Harvey did like to lick the pan after I'd made mine.

Glad to hear Hershey is eating something!

Tanya's site is definitely THE bible for beans with CKD cats. You'll find TONS of great info there.

I'm glad Hershey is eating the eggs. I hope you can continue to find food he will eat. Sending prayers.
