Today 430pm I tested Lola before feeding and got 90 mg/dl. Approximately 11 hours earlier I fed 1/2 can Fancy feast, 4 units Prozinc with lower carb dry for her and her sister while I am at work.
At 430 I did not dose the Prozinc for fear of a low event. Now 4 hours later she was 266. I will test again in the !orning. Any suggestions?
I will donate over the weekend. Thank you.

Glad to see you over here from Facebook. It sounds like 4 units is way too much of a dose. So glad you are testing at home. How long ago was the cat diagnosed? What was his starting dose? Was it raised gradually or in whole units?

Very good decision to skip tonight. Sounds like he probably went very low today and may be bouncing up. I would reduce the dose tomorrow. I'd like to see what 2 units does.

One of the tools we use to help each other on here is a spreadsheet that we put in our signature. When you get a chance over the next day or two it would be great if you could set that up. We have folks that can help you with that if you need it. http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/fdmb-spreadsheet-instructions.130337/

Agree with Janet. Better to not dose, then reduce amount in the future. Like she said, it is challenging to give advice with out the history, and the spreadsheet is very helpful there.

5 am test was 262. I did reduce her dose to 3 units. Sorry I couldn't find your response to use 2 units of prozinc until now. I will back from the dentist in a few hours (tooth extraction). I will test her in the 6-7 hour time frame. Thank you.

Sounds like a plan. If you get a chance today, get that spreadsheet going too. :)

Welcome Mary and kitty from the facebook group!
So great that you are home testing and it would be very helpful if you setup a Spreadsheet for your kitty's (name?) BG numbers. Additionally, the link for the spreadsheet will go in your Signature. Instructions below:
Spreadsheet (just need a google account, someone can help if you need): http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/fdmb-spreadsheet-instructions.130337/
    Understanding said spreadsheet (SS): http://www.felinediabetes.com/FDMB/threads/understanding-the-spreadsheet-grid.156606/

Test this morning AM Preshot 179, gave 2 units of Prozinc. I tried to set up the spreadsheet but I am not sure if I was successful. I made entries. Is it visible?

You need to fill out your signature and put the link to your spreadsheet in there.

To do your signature, find your sign on name (top right of the page) and there's a drop down menu....choose "Signature"....a new box will pop up for you to enter information in like:

Name, Cats name, age, sex, date of diagnosis, type of insulin, type of meter, type of food, any other health problems? and a general location.....Then put the link to your spreadsheet in and hit "Save"

I made the updates you sent. Not sure if I got it right. Please let me know if the link is active.

My date of birth is incorrect. November, 1957.
Lola's date of birth is May 24, 2007.

Can someone correct the date of birth?

    Thank you.
