I have an Alphatrek meter that I've owned for about 5 months. I am getting readings all over the place! I used the test solution and it showed that it is calibrated. How long do meters typically last? When did you know to replace your meter? Thanks for your help!

I have been using the same AT2 meter for over 2 1/2 years. As long as the control test shows that the meter is calibrated it should be reliable. One thing I do is change the battery every 4 months. I was changing it more often when I still had my other FD kitty. A good quality battery is supposed to be good for 1000 readings, so I change it accordingly even if the low battery alert does not come up. It is a good plan to always have a spare battery on hand.

As far as the readings go it would be helpful if you set up a spreadsheet in order to get some help/suggestions. Often by looking at the patterns on a spreadsheet you or others can spot trends that can give insight into number fluctuations.

Here is information on setting up a spreadsheet:

If you need any help just ask. There are a number of people that can help you get it set up quickly.

Readings fluctuate throughout the day. Tell us your readings from the last few days. Even better if you could set up a spreadsheet

My spreadsheet is way out of date:banghead: I keep all my data paper pencil! I was really wondering how long these meters last. Great idea to keep an extra battery on hand!
