    Yesterday

Squallie is a happy chappie today, lots of purring and snuggling! Ate a great brekkie, and most of lunch, so mamabean is happy, too.

Prayers and healing light to all in need.

    Hi

Just want to ask , is it ok to shoot 3 units with your kitty low BG!!

My cat BG's now is 87 and after 3 hours is her next shoot and i am afraid to shoot ( she is on 1 unit of Lantus)!!!

Hi. I would not suggest you shoot if your kitty is under 200, since she seems to have been on insulin only a short time. Test before you feed, and if she is below 200 DON'T FEED, post and ask for guidance.

@rawia Hi. What did you decide to do about Meme's shot? Were her numbers high enough to shoot, or did you give it a miss?

    Hi,

I was too busy with her

Last week she admitted to hospital because of nausia and vet told me that this normal for diabetic cat to happen sonetimes. She put her on IV and she told me that her blood glocus was surprize for a cat that not receiving insullin for a whole day bit that was because she is not eating enough i think at hospital. The next day when i take her back after eating and relaxing her numbers jumped again to 300 so i gave her 1 U twice a day for three days and nothing chsnge. I increase it by 0.25 as much as i can because i do not have the half unit mark syringe ( i ordered on line and will be arrived soon ).

After this littel increacment her BG was all good numbers or i think so because it never gose above 200 ( on alpha track), is this supose to be good because i can not make it lower and i can not skip the second shoot because it will rise badly. So i shoot and monitor her closely.

I will fill the SS so you can advice me.

One more qouestion, what kind of Relion meter most of you are using?? Confirm or micro or ultima??

    i updated my SS

i can not skip a shoot. i did it before and her numbers jumped high quickly. and any dose from .25 to 1 is not effective any more and seems to me 1.25 is a little high but i have no more options???

Thanks for updating your spreadsheet! I am concerned about her dose, though; if you are still using the Alphatrak, that 51 at +3 today is too low. Any number below 68 is a cause for concern as it could lead to hypoglycemia. It might be a good idea to take her back to 1 unit and try it again for a week or ten days and see if she doesn't come down some on it, but not get too low. She was getting some really nice blue numbers while she was on 1 unit. :) The best way to get advice is to start a new post saying something like "Need help with dosing"; that will get lots of others to look in and be able to help you.

It seems to me that the Relion meter most used here is the Confirm, but I know some folks use the Prime, too.

I will reduce it for sure but i am afraid if i go back to 1 U that she will end up with numbers higher than 300, as i know TR used to hold the dose only for 3 days if the numbers are high?

I'm going to ask one of the moderators to move your thread for you, so you will have more members be able to see it, and give you more answers and help. Right now, I am the only one who is seeing your questions, so you're not getting as much help as you should be getting.

I know it's a difficult balancing act, trying to get our kitties into good numbers. Meme was getting some nice blue numbers on 1 unit, as well as some numbers in the low yellows. My concerns are the much lower numbers like 51, 81, 86, these numbers are really too low to ensure safety (using an Alphatrak). When Meme has been on Lantus a bit longer, and you've had a chance to really see patterns and trends in her responses to insulin, it might be safer, but for the time being those low numbers worry me.
