Rusty can't seem to get back to a "normal" (i.e., lower) pre shot. I hope I can get him straightened out when I figure out his dose on a different syringe. I'm about to try out the CarePoint Vet syringes this rainy afternoon.

Not much is new. Rusty's appetite is poor today. He didn't care at all for the Hounds & Gatos 98% Turkey and Turkey Liver, so that's off future menus. The next can of H&G I'll try is the "Game Birds", which contains duck, quail, and grouse. But not today! We're back to RAWZ Chicken & Chicken Liver and RAWZ Turkey & Turkey Liver, and FF T&G.

Wishing you all a good day. I'll be watching the World Series Game 1 tonight. Rooting for the Dodgers, of course, even though they're no longer in Brooklyn.

Good luck with the new syringes, those are the ones I used. They were pretty good, but must be frustrating for you. Dear Rusty, please eat your fuds.

I'm torn on the World Series...will likely be a fair weathered watcher this year

I worked with several syringes this afternoon: CarePoint Vet and Sure Comfort. I think it is the same syringe. I arrived at a number on the calipers that looked like it would work for Rusty's dose. Then, when it was time to give him his PM shot, a fresh CarePoint Vet syringe somehow caused air bubbles to appear in my pen of Levemir. Bummer! I had to open a new pen (the last one in the box) because I was afraid that the insulin had become compromised/contaminated. I've never had this happen before. I guess I'll be taking a day trip across the border this fall! In any event, I didn't fool around with other syringes but went back to my Monojects, which have only the flaw of the "cone"--everything else about them is good.

Pouring rain at times today.

Off to watch the World Series.

All kitties who would like to join the Kitchen Krew are welcome. No experience? No problem. We'll train you. The Kitchen Krew is also looking for a Grill Master and a Bartender. Please apply with resumé to Chef Rusty.

Dear Chef Rusty,
This is in response to your advertisement for Kitchen Krew, which I learned about at Darwin's OTJ purrtay. My qualifications are that I like to be in the kitchen and I really, really like crunchy things. My goal is to make croutons for the salads and soups. My signature recipe is made with tuna-infused coconut oil and sprinkled with parmesan and snips of oatgrass, extra crunchy. Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Felix

Rusty, eat your fuds!!! SEnding appy vines for your sweet boy! :bighug::bighug::bighug: My two didn't like H&G either, but I am interested to try RAWS. Not many pet stores around me carry it at this time.

I bet you enjoyed todays game, GO Dodgers!

Wishing you the best of luck with finding syringes that work for you, how frustrating.

Yo Felix, You're hired! A crouton specialist would be a great asset to the Kitchen Krew.

air bubbles don't hurt the insulin at all!! Heck, if I threw away every pen that I got air bubbles into, I'd have to throw one away about once a week!!
I've had air bubbles in my pen before too and never had a problem with it.
Thanks Chris and Carla! I'll go back to that air-bubble pen tomorrow morning. Since I only drew one dose from the fresh pen, I will assume that it will be OK to put back into the box and hold until the present pen is empty (it's only about 1/4th empty).

Thanks, Ruth. The game was great! I hope you (and @Chris & China ) will be able to find RAWS. It is only carried in independent pet-food stores. I discovered it in a holistic pet-food store in Lake Placid, and they also have it in Whiskers holistic store in New York City. Whiskers will ship, but I think it would be expensive.

Great game tonight. Unbelievable that it was so hot in LA (103 degrees!!). The pitchers didn't waste any time and it was one of the shortest games in World Series history.

Poor Rusty got another fur shot tonight. He is so skinny now, and I think the shots go right through his skin and out the other side. But he is not in good regulation now, either, and tomorrow I'm considering going back up to a fat 0.1 Unit (0.15mm on the calipers, up from 0.10mm).

'night, all. Thanks for the visits.
