07/27 Jasper is GA

Today I lost my best friend and the love of my life.

Jasper had been sick over the weekend, starting on Friday. He would cry when his belly was touched or when he was picked up. Yesterday he was unable to walk and was sitting in the corner trying to make himself comfortable, but unable to move his back legs. I made the decision last night to help him cross this morning, and I called the vet when they opened at 9am to make an appointment. He left me on the way to the vet, in my arms.

Good bye to my brave cow Kittie who spent 2 years on Insulin, followed me from Texas to Germany, got to enjoy Paris once is his life and spent most of the last 6 months OTJ. I love you more than words can ever say.

Oh Heather Im in shock. Jasper was one of the first kitties Spike met over in pzi. I know you loved him so very much and did everything you could for him. Im so sorry for you and Eric, fly free sweet Jasper.

I'm so sorry Heather. My heart goes out to you, now. This was so sudden, I'm glad it was a quick illness and that he passed in your arms, but I know it doesn't make you feel any better. He was loved tons, and you loved him tons, and you will see him again one day.

I am in shock and as close to speechless as I get. It's hard to type through tears. I am so very sorry. Per loves you as much as you love him. He left in your arms where he felt safe and secure. He will be chasing butterflies and have lots of nanners to keep him content until you find him at the Bridge.

Oh Heather, I am so very sorry to hear this about Jasper. You really had a special kitty who flew all over the world to be a part of your life, and what a wonderful life he had with you and Eric. It seems he wanted to be held in your arms as he left in his own time and that is what he felt most comfortable doing. You had him until his very last moment as if that was his gift to you.

I hope in time, today's sadness can be replaced with the many fond memories of your sweet globetrotting Jasper.

Like everyone else here I am absolutely in shock. Poor Jasper. Poor You and Eric. I am so very sorry. Jasper sure did live a full live though. Not only did you give him the most love and the best care that any kitty could possibly have...you gave him the world. What a lucky boy Jasper was to have seen the places that most of us never will. Another sad day on our board because one of our special babies has left to be with all the others who were waiting to greet him. It's a special thing that, if he had to leave now, he did so in your arms feeling that love from you and returning it.

These sudden goodbyes are so difficult - but perhaps easier for him because he apparently didn't suffer a lot of pain. My heart goes out to you and Eric in your sadness and I'm hoping that the wonderful memories and love you've shared all this time serve as a comfort to you in the days to come. You gave him extra time after his diagnosis with the TLC - good, quality time. I'm sure the trip to the Bridge was a breeze for him - he was indeed the "seasoned traveler" - all in order to be with the family he loved so much.

Many tears are dropping tonight as we again say goodbye to one of our own.
