I am trying to create and FDMB profile, I am following the instructions presented, but there is no "About" in my drop down options. Is there something that I am missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!!

Go to the upper right part of the page where you see your name. Click on it. In the menu that appears, click on "Signature" and you'll see a text box where you can enter your profile.

Many of us feed Friskies because there are lots of low carb options and it's easier on the wallet. Is your kitty on insulin of any type? Vetsulin is a much cheaper insulin. Lantus is very good for many cats but horribly expensive in the US. Many people there order from a Canadian source, Mark's Marine Pharmacy in Vancouver. You can also apply for assistance for basic supplies through Diabetic Cats in Need. @Chris & China is the contact member here.

I am going to be discussing Vetsulin with my Vet. He prescribed Lantus which is too expensive

Please contact me....If you qualify for DCIN's Compassionate Assistance Program, we can provide you with Lantus....it's a much better insulin for cats.

Just click on my name and choose "Start Conversation"

I just got a price from Marks of $125 for a vial, including $25 for cold shipping. My vet says they keep this for months.

The pens are the better buy....a vial is 1000 units, and unless you have a higher dose cat, you usually end up throwing half a vial away when it starts to lose efficacy.

The pens hold 300 units each (a box of 5 is 1500 units total), but since each pen is smaller, you're able to use every drop in each pen. A box is good until the expiration date ...usually at least 2 years away!

So if your cat is on 2U twice a day, a box of pens will last you a year....at Mark's price of $164.99 plus $25 shipping, that breaks down to a little less than $16/month

My cat has been prescribed 2u twice a day. What needles would I need to purchase to effectively get the insulin from the pen? would I need to get the vet to rewrite the prescription?

If you mean 2 units of Lantus, you'll need U100 syringes to use with the pen cartridge. Many people in the US order from adwdiabetes.com. I believe others buy ReliOn syringes from Walmart. Some states require a prescription to buy syringes and some don't. A pharmacist can tell you. Make sure you buy U100 syringes with half unit marks - much easier to draw up small fractions.

If you buy from Marks Marine Pharmacy , no you don't need a script that specifically says the pens. You just have to call Marks and let them know you want pens instead of vials (and pay the difference in price of course)
