U-40 syringes

    I hurt Pepper tonight using the u-40 syringes. I am going to switch back to the u-100 syringes and use the conversion chart.. Poor girl cried. :(

    Why was it any different? Are they not the same gauge?

    These needles are huge compared to the u-100

    I'm not talking length wise. I'm talking thickness. I don't put the u40 in all the way and she still flinched and cried.

    Looks like a larger gauge needle and longer too. You'll get used to the U100s and they allow many more dose fractions. Just put the U40s away somewhere so you don't grab them accidentally and fill according to the conversion chart. :confused:

    I like the u100's when she was on Novolin. I'm happy to go back to them.

    You'll need to use this conversion chart if you want to dose ProZinc, a U40 insulin, with U100 syringes:

    I'm not sure if this was ever discussed on your thread previously.

    Yes. Thank you. I printed it out and put it on my refrigerator next to my hypo instructions.

    Interesting. Thanks for the photo. I have only ever dealt with U-40s.
